Hoje is a 2011 Brazilian drama film directed by Tata Amaral, based on the book "Prova Contrária", by Fernando Bonassi. The film was the winner of the 44th Festival de Brasília in 2011.
Starring Denise Fraga, the film tells the story of Vera, a woman who fought against the military dictatorship in Brazil and began to receive a compensation from the Government for the disappearance of her husband, at the time of the crackdown.

Synopsis
Ex-political activist receives compensation from the Brazilian Government for the disappearance of her husband, victim of repression unleashed by the Brazilian military government dictatorship. With the money, she can buy the so dreamed apartment and free herself of the condition of suspension in which she lived for decades, when she was not even officially recognized as widow. When moving to the new home, she receives a visit that will change her life.Actors

Adrian LeDuc (Firth) is the owner of a revival house in Buenos Aires. The film follows the exploits of film actor Jack Noah (Dreyfuss), who is filming in the small, fictional South American country of Parador when Paradorian President Alfonse Simms suddenly dies of a heart attack. Not wanting to lose his position in power, the president's right-hand man, Roberto Strausmann (Juliá) forces Jack to take the 'role of a lifetime' - that of the dead president, as the two men look so much alike. Jack accepts, eventually winning over the people and even the dead president's mistress, Madonna (Braga). However, when paradise proves to be too boring, Jack needs to find a way to get out while keeping Roberto out of the loop.

During the 1977 El Salvadoran presidential elections, amid public unrest and a guerrilla uprising, the military regime sends death squads to detain, torture and kill any people who speak out against its human rights record. The film focuses on Minerva Mirabal and tells the true story of how she and her sisters came to represent the greatest threat to dictator Rafael Trujillo and his regime. The Mirabal sisters were involved in an underground movement against the government. They were assassinated in 1960 by men under the instruction of the Trujillo regime according to Pupo Roman, although their death was made to appear as an automobile accident. Segismundo (Tony Ramos) is a former political police officer of Getúlio Vargas' government, who used to torture prisoners. In April 1945, he is the chief of the Immigration Office in Rio de Janeiro and, therefore, is in charge of preventing the entry of Nazis.
