Shattering the Myth of Aging: Senior Games Celebrate Healthy Lifestyles, Competition and Community is a documentary short film directed by filmmaker, Dorothy Fadiman, which follows Ron Chilton a man in his 70s who competes in the Senior Olympics. The film documents the growth of community spirit and friendships as the participants become stronger and more active, rather than less, as the years go by.
Joan Brunwasser of OpEdNews said of the film, "In a mere eight minutes, I was hooked. I wanted to know a lot more about Ron and the Senior Olympics, people who have chosen to greet aging with vigor."
The film was originally entitled, "Meeting the Challenge: Senior Athletes Join in Olympic Competition," however, due to laws in different states regarding the Olympics, the title was changed.
The film follows several women from small villages in India who come out of seclusion to serve their communities by teaching, particularly to other women, about family planning resources. The women are trained through Janani which is a non-profit health organization founded in the state of Bihar, India by way of DKT International. The women become rural medical practitioners and counselors.
