Poojappura Ravi is an Indian actor, primarily concentrating in Malayalam films doing comedy roles. He was a stage actor and was a part of Kalanilyam Drama Vision, the famous drama institution. He started doing Malayalam films in mid-1970s. He has done many " black and white " movies produced in Kerala. Ravi is actually a very flexible character actor who can do almost any roles which is evident from his movies. Even though the exact count of his movies list are not updated, he has surpassed 600 films. In the 1990s he also did TV serials. Now he still continues as a busy actor in both Malayalam television and movies.

Biography

Raveendran Nair with the stage name Poojappura ravi, is born to Madhavan Pilla and Bhavaniyamma, as eldest of four children, at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He had his primary education from Chinnamma Memorial Girls High School and Thirumala Higher Secondary School. He is married to Thankamma. The couple have a daughter, Lakshmi and a son, Hari Kumar.

'Nakhangal' tells the tale of three youngsters sharing a rented house. The house belongs to an NRI, whose friend Jeevan (Arun) arranges for the rental. Giri (Rakendu), a driver in a courier company, Jackson (Madan Mohan), a tea estate accountant and Sherin (Megha), a nurse are the youngsters who stay together. A fourth person enters the home and their lives when the rent is increased. He introduces himself as a writer with the pen name Manjila. But is fishy about Manjila who carries a gun with him. The plot thickens when he is found dead from drug overdose and Giri finds a bag of money in the room. There are takers for the money who wants it returned to them. But the three friends decide to keep it for themselves. Meanwhile Sherin is being persuaded by Vinodh, to accept his love for her. The money orchestrates the rest of the story with broken trust, gruesome murders and a suspense ending.

Bobby (Suresh Gopi) comes to high range as a helicopter pilot working for Robinson (Sreenivasan). His job is to spray copper sulphate (thurisu) in the rubber plantations. He is assisted by Venkidi (Manian Pillai Raju), Nandu and Indrans. He faced some resistance from local workers like Chako (Jagathy Sreekumar). He also had to save Robinson from many troubles. In a nearby convent he sees Sr. Cindrella (Praveena) and was shocked to realise that she is actually Megha Mathew, the sister of his best friend (Madhupal), of whose murder Bobby is currently accused of. Megha is the only witness who can prove Bobby's innocence. He fakes a helicopter malfunction and lands the copter in the convent so as to meet Megha in person. But Megha refuses to admit her identity to Bobby. She was not aware that her brother actually gave word to Bobby to give her hand to Bobby. Meanwhile, the murderers of her brother came in search of Megha. Bobby in the end rescues her from the villains and wins Megha.

The Harikrishnans (Mammootty and Mohanlal) are one of the most famous lawyer duos in India. To avoid confusion one is called as Hari (Mammooty) and the other as Krishnan (Mohanlal). They head the organization called Harikrishnan Associates, which consists of around 300 lawyers. They get engaged in a murder case of Guptan, who was allegedly killed by Gabriel. Gabriel is a friend of Hari's sister and Harikrishnans become the defense lawyers upon her request. Harikrishnans begin investigation and come across Meera (Juhi Chawla), a friend of Guptan. Both of them fall in love with her. After some trouble over the matter, they rediscover their friendship and get involved in the case again. They discover that Guptan actually died due to poisoning by his relatives who were doctors. At the end Meera decides to go for a random method of choosing her lover as she liked both Harikrishnans equally. Two different climaxes of the film show either of Harikrishnans winning the toss for being Meera's friend; the losing person presumably becoming Meera's lover.

Mahadevan (Jayaram) and Kumaran (Janardhanan) work in a small firm and are room mates renting from Janakiamma (Meena). One day, luck comes to them when Mahadevan wins a car as the first prize of a promotional contest held by a washing-powder brand. Meanwhile, a murderer, Ambrose (Abu Salim) is after Maya. By mistake, both the murderer and Mahadevan get the same tag number on their cars' license plates. The murderers try a hit-and-run attack on Maya, but she escapes. She thinks that Mahadevan who did it. Mahadevan gets arrested by sub-inspector Cherian (Kalabhavan Mani) according to Maya's complaint. But due to lack of proper evidence, he's released with a warning. After getting through problems one after another, Mahadevan finds the real killers and their car. He tells Maya about the killers who attempted for her life. Shockingly it is revealed that one of the killers is Maya's Vishnu who is after her wealth. Vishnu tries to kill Maya, but Mahadevan stops him. In an attempt to kill Mahadevan and Maya, Vishnu dies by falling on a sharp object. In an attempt to dump his body, the couple is stopped by Vishnu's accomplice, Ambrose. He's enraged by his friend's death and tries to kill Mahadevan and Maya. But ends up at the dead end of the road, where the cops were waiting for him with an armed force. The car catches fire from the gunshots and explodes, killing him. The film ends with sub-inspector Cherian thanking Mahadevan and Maya, for their help and support.
