90 Minutes in Heaven is a 2015 Christian drama film directed by Michael Polish, based on the bestseller Don Piper biographic novel by the same name. It is the first film by Giving Films, a sister company to retail chain Family Christian Stores, and the company plans to donate all profits from the film to charitable organizations.
Synopsis
Don Piper (Hayden Christensen), was involved in a horrific car crash and was pronounced dead at the scene and covered by a tarp. 90 minutes later he had been brought to the emergency room and returns to life, and claims to have seen Heaven and visited with deceased relatives while there.Actors

Jack Kerouac, coming off the recent success of On the Road, is unable to cope with a suddenly demanding public and his rise in popularity, and begins battling with advanced alcoholism as a result. Saul Naumann (Gere) is a somewhat controlling Jewish husband and father. A Religious Studies professor at UC Berkeley, Saul wrote his graduate thesis on the Kabbalah. Because he was a devout Jew, his wife Miriam (Binoche) converted to Judaism when they married, and he nurtured his son Aaron (Max Minghella) as a traditional studious Jew like himself. When Eliza (Flora Cross) wins her class spelling bee, they embark on a course of Kabbalah study to help her win. The film follows the family and the spiritual quests upon which they journey, in large part because of Saul: Miriam's attempt to make herself whole, Aaron's religious uncertainty, and Eliza's desire to be closer to her father.

Paul (John Leguizamo) is a projectionist in a Detroit theater who is reading about the 16th century disappearance of the Roanoke Colony when the lights suddenly go out in the theater. He finds that all the staff and patrons have mysteriously vanished, leaving only their clothes and non-biological parts behind. He comes across a security guard who is holding a flashlight. As Paul had a headlamp on for his reading they deduce that people holding sources of light are protected against whatever dwells in the darkness. The guard's flashlight goes out, and he vanishes. As Paul investigates, his headlamp goes out as well.
