Synopsis
À la suite d'une exploration mouvementée à la Samaritaine puis dans les rues de Paris, le jeune Bébert est oublié en queue de train par son grand-frère, Tiennot, parti draguer dans les voitures de tête de leur train à destination de Coulommiers (la famille réside à Tournan-en-Brie). Ce train est en effet divisé en deux rames à la gare de Gretz-Armainvilliers, la tête allant à Tournan, la queue à Verneuil-l'Étang, où Bébert va vivre quelques aventures mémorables et semer la pagaille dans la gare.Actors

In the wine-growing village of Montpaillard, the humorless gamekeeper Parju is determined to bring in the wily poacher Blaireau. One night, he is accidentally knocked out by Armand Fléchard, a young piano teacher, but is convinced the attacker was Blaireau and has him arrested. Antoine Brisset, comptable, se retrouve au chômage à la suite de la faillite de son patron qui a misé aux courses. Il reprend du travail avec son frère Louis, dans une agence de détectives privés dirigée par Albert Lombard. Ayant à fréquenter un club de ball-trap huppé pour les besoins d'une enquête, une série de malentendus le fait passer pour un industriel spécialisé dans l'import-export et se voit ainsi proposer une affaire : il touchera une commission de cent-vingt millions d'anciens francs s'il parvient à acheminer sous neuf jours trois cents tonnes de malachite verte au port du Havre. Les trois hommes se mettent à la recherche du précieux matériau qui s'avère introuvable. Mais, après des jours de recherche infructueuse, ils apprennent par hasard que cette marchandise est disponible à Barcelone.

During the Battle of France, while the German forces are rapidly spreading across the country, the 7th Transmission Company suffers an air raid near the Machecoul wood, but survive and hide in the wood. Captain Dumont, the company commander, sends three of his men—Louis Chaudard, Pithiviers and Tassin—to scout the area. After burying the radio cable beneath a sandy road, the little squad crosses the field, climbs a nearby hill, and takes position within a wall-covered area, which happens to be a cemetery. One of the men who was cutting down trees for camouflage hits the wrong tree, pulling up the radio cable from the sandy road and revealing it to the passing German infantry. The Germans cut the cable, surround the woods, and order a puzzled 7th Company to surrender. During that time, Chaudard and his friends, who spotted the Germans, try without success (due to the cut cable) to contact and join their unit. They can only witness their comrades' capture and decide to run away.
