Dakota (also known as Harley) is a 1988 American film starring Lou Diamond Phillips and directed by Fred Holmes.

The film was reedited and rereleased under a different title in 1991, Harley.

Synopsis

Dakota (Lou Diamond Phillips) is a troubled teenager on the run who takes a job at a Texas ranch to work off his debts. While Dakota restores an antique car, he becomes a pseudo big brother for the rancher's young son, Casey, who lost his leg to cancer. Dakota also begins to fall for the rancher's daughter, Molly.

1961–72 Corinne Walker is a young girl who is skeptical about God. After the stillbirth of her brother, her parent's marriage disintegrates over the course of several years. As a teenager (Taissa Farmiga), she meets Ethan (Boyd Holbrook), a budding musician in local rock band The Renegades. They get married after Corinne becomes pregnant, and have their daughter Abigail. While touring with Ethan's band, their bus crashes into a river. Ethan rushes to save Abby, and Corinne pleads with God to save her. Abby is pulled out of the bus before it sinks into the water, and Ethan believes that God wanted them to live. Ethan and Corinne grow more and more interested in Jesus, eventually giving themselves over to a radical New Testament church.

Christine is a wheelchair-using woman with severe multiple sclerosis. In order to escape her isolation, she makes a journey to Lourdes, the iconic site of Catholic pilgrimage in the Pyrenees Mountains, along with other people with varying disabilities. Lastly she meets Max, a young boy whose mother doesn't love him. Through these children and God, Esther begins to find courage to save the house. She soon discovers the house is a historical building and with the help of the children and the parents they save the home. Esther then find people to invest in allowing her to build more homes for foster children. Toward the end of the movie, Jasmine speaks to Esther after years of being silent: "Thank you".
