Synopsis
Prologue The film begins with a pre-credits prologue in which Danny (Noah Taylor), the protagonist and narrator, enters the lounge of the flat he's staying in to ask that the television volume be reduced. Entering the room, Danny finds his friend and roommate Flip (Brett Stewart) sitting in an easy chair in front of the TV holding a felafel sandwich aloft. Flip fails to respond to Danny's calls and Danny discovers that Flip is dead.Actors

Dogs in Space centers on a group of young music fans sharing a house in the inner Melbourne suburb of Richmond. Komasa is a female drifter works at a pink salon—a shop specializing in fellatio—called "Hot Lips". On the way to work one day she rescues a female stranger from an attack by an evil-looking man. The film begins with two bedraggled peasants, Tahei and Matashichi (Minoru Chiaki and Kamatari Fujiwara). Through conversation, they reveal that they had intended to fight alongside the Yamana clan, but turned up too late, were taken for soldiers of the defeated Akizuki clan, and forced to bury the dead.
