Hey Arnold!: The Movie is a 2002 American animated comedy film based on the 1996 Nickelodeon animated television series Hey Arnold!. The film is directed by Tuck Tucker, written by Craig Bartlett and Steve Viksten with music by Jim Lang. The film follows Arnold, Gerald, and Helga on a quest to save their neighborhood from a greedy developer who plans on converting it into a huge shopping mall. The film was released on June 28, 2002 and produced by Nickelodeon Movies and Snee Oosh, Inc. and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film stars Spencer Klein, Paul Sorvino, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Francesca Smith, Jamil Walker Smith, Dan Castellaneta, Tress MacNeille, and Christopher Lloyd.

Synopsis

Arriving home from a basketball game, Arnold and his best friend Gerald learn that a man named Scheck, the CEO of FutureTech Industries (FTI), has announced plans to redevelop the entire neighborhood as a luxurious high-rise shopping mall. That night, Helga discovers that her father, Big Bob, is working with FTI to build a new super-sized branch of his beeper store in the proposed mall. Helga tells her father that their neighbors are going to suffer if he builds his store. Big Bob argues that his store is a good thing, because the Patakis will become extremely wealthy. Helga ultimately sides with her father, though is hesitant to do so due to her love for Arnold.

By the year 2056, an epidemic of organ failures has devastated the planet. The megacorporation GeneCo provides organ transplants on a payment plan. Clients who default on payments are hunted down by Repo Men: skilled assassins contracted by GeneCo to repossess organs, usually killing the clients in the process. The CEO of GeneCo, Rottissimo "Rotti" Largo (a listed in a newspaper article about his kids), discovers he is terminally ill. Elmer est en train de poursuivre Bugs, lorsque le lapin se réfugie sur une scène de théâtre où l'on joue Le Barbier de Séville. Elmer a la très grande surprise de se retrouver devant le public lorsque le rideau se lève et que le maître d'orchestre commence à jouer. Bugs arrive déguisé en barbier et entraîne Elmer dans son salon de coiffure. Il étale nonchalamment sur le visage du chasseur un mélange de crème à raser et de bière, puis hache Elmer avec un rasoir. Ce dernier revient, mais armé cette fois. Bugs (alors déguisé en femme) noue le canon du fusil et découpe les bretelles d'Elmer, qui se retrouve en caleçon devant le public. Il tente de tirer mais se retrouve dans le siège à cause du nœud. Bugs étale de la lotion capillaire, masse le crâne d'Elmer, transforme finalement le crâne en un gâteau de mousse, de légumes et de fruits. Le chasseur est alors poursuivi par le rasoir électrique, « charmé » comme un serpent par la flûte de Bugs, avant de se faire assommer avec le siège télescopique en voulant chasser Bugs. Profitant de cette occasion, Bugs cire le crâne d'Elmer, découpe ses chaussures avec un coupe-ongle, manucure ses ongles puis les peint en rouge. Il rase Elmer avec une mini tondeuse (après lui avoir préalablement aspergé le visage de lotion capillaire), lui met un masque d'argile, burine ce dernier, abuse de quantité de lotion et ajoute de l'engrais qui transforme le crâne chauve d'Elmer en un bouquet de fleurs. S'ensuit une surenchère d'échanges armés entre Bugs et lui (haches, fusils, canons).

Un orchestre (formé de notes de musique) s'apprête à jouer Le Beau Danube bleu. Mais lors de la composition de la valse, il manque une note. Cette dernière se trouve dans les livres Le Petit Verre de whisky, Y a-t-il une taverne en ville ? et Comme j'ai soif et en ressort ivre avec une tête rouge (qui montre son ivresse). Elle marche n'importe comment à cause de son ivresse et le chef d'orchestre s'en impatiente. La note ivre fait un tic-tac-toe sur un dièse de la partition. Le chef d'orchestre va la chercher : cette dernière s'assoit sur un œuf qui donne en résultat des bébés notes. La note va ensuite jouer au jeu de "va chercher" avec un soupir qu'il transforme avec un sifflement en chien. Lorsque le chef retrouve son apprenti manquant, il l'attache avec une pince à linge à la partition.
