Synopsis
Le jour où le facteur apporte à Ibrahima Dieng un mandat de 25 000 francs CFA de la part de son neveu, immigré à Paris, Ibrahima se montre généreux. Dans le quartier la nouvelle se répand et il aide sa famille et ses voisins, mais sans carte d'identité la poste refuse de lui remettre l'argent, ce qui est l'origine d'un long parcours du combattant dans les méandres de l'administration sénégalaise.Actors

An unemployed African man, Ibrahima, lives with his two wives and kids. A nephew of his sends him a money order from France worth 25,000 Francs which he has saved from working as a street sweeper. He is to keep some of the money for himself, save a portion for his nephew, and give a portion to his sister. In Senegal, sometime after the establishment of a European presence in the area but before the imposition of direct French colonial administration, the Ceddo ("commoners") try to preserve their traditional culture against the onslaught of Islam, Christianity, and the slave trade. When local king Demba War sides with the Muslims, the Ceddo abduct his daughter, Dior Yacine, to protest their forced conversion to Islam. After trying to rescue the princess, various heirs to the throne are killed, and Demba War is killed during the night. Eventually the kidnappers are killed and Dior Yacine is brought back to the village to confront the imam, just as all the villagers are being given Muslim names.
