Lundgren wrote the film; along with Gabriel Dowrick and Steven Elder, while John Hyams performed uncredited script revisions. The film centers around New Jersey police detective Nick Cassidy, as he travels to Asia intent on killing the man responsible for murdering his wife and daughter, mobster Viktor Dragovic. He is also set on destroying Dragovic's human trafficking network.
Development started in 2007, after Lundgren read news about a group of girls being smuggled into the United States from Mexico. The girls were left in a vehicle along the border; trapped inside, they all succumbed to heat stroke and suffocation. Produced on a $9 million budget, the film was shot over 50 days in Canada and Thailand. It was the first film to be shot in English by an organization based in Asia (outside of Hong Kong) for an international theatrical release.
The film premiered at the American Film Market on November 7, 2014. A limited theatrical release followed, starting on April 9, 2015 in the United Arab Emirates, and succeeded by Thailand (on April 23); Malaysia (on April 30); and the United States (on May 8). The film received mostly negative reviews; particular criticism was aimed at Jaa's English, and at the film's scant focus on human trafficking. Skin Trade grossed $384 thousand at the worldwide box office. It was released through Video-on-Demand on April 23, 2015, followed by a Blu-ray and DVD release on August 25 later that year.

This film picks up the story 15 years after the events of the first film. Drum (Norton) has been born to a white prostitute (Vega), who raises him with her black lesbian lover (Kelly). Drum grows up to be a fighter and is often forced to bare-knuckle-box other slaves for the entertainment of the owners, one of whom is a gay Frenchman named Bernard DeMarigny (Colicos). DeMarigny wants to sleep with Drum, but his advances are rejected by the slave and DeMarigny vows revenge against Drum. Drum and his friend Blaise (Kotto) are eventually sold to plantation owner Hammond Maxwell (Oates) and are both taken to his plantation to work. Drum's girlfriend Regine (Grier) is purchased by Maxwell as well and is taken to the plantation for his own personal desires.

The story is based on two distinct early 19th-century themes, including the attempts by abolitionists (Cooper and Raft) to end the slave trade. Although the U.S. Constitution ended the importation of slaves in 1808, slaves were still being brought into the country under foreign flags. The abolition of slavery by Great Britain helped reduce legal trade in slaves by putting the British navy into action against slave traders, but even Britain had its supporters of the trade (here represented by Wilcoxon, as a British naval officer acting for the slave interests). The collision between Cooper and Wilcoxon is complicated by Wilcoxon's sister (Dee) falling in love with Cooper.

Two mentally ill women who are clearly suffering from not otherwise specified delusional disorders, a mother and a (grown) daughter, live together in a secluded mansion. They are in a relationship and both are recognised for their beauty. They spend their days playing perverse BDSM-related incestuous games in memory of their sadistic patriarch who, when he was still alive, raped his daughter when she was eleven, murdered several servants, and is now a mummified corpse with which the daughter is shown having sex. In Texas 1858, the Speck brothers, Ace and Dicky, drive black slaves on foot. Among the shackled slaves is Django, sold off and separated from his wife, Broomhilda von Shaft. The Speck brothers are stopped by Dr. King Schultz, a German ex-dentist and bounty hunter from Düsseldorf, Prussia. Schultz asks to buy one of the slaves; when he questions Django about his knowledge of the Brittle brothers, for whom Schultz is carrying a warrant, Ace becomes irritated and aims his shotgun at Schultz. Schultz quickly kills Ace and leaves Dicky at the mercy of the newly freed slaves, who shoot Dicky in the head.
