Tell Them Lucifer was Here tells the true story of the cold-blooded murders of Victorian Police Officers Gary Silk and Rodney Miller, who were gunned down in the line of duty in 1998, and the massive Police manhunt to catch their killers. The story centres on the investigation of the brutal murders under the direction of Detective Inspector Paul Sheridan and the Lorimer Taskforce. Kel and Kath return from The Da Vinci Code European tour and begin frantic preparations for Christmas. During the two weeks leading up to Christmas Day Kim discovers that Brett is once again having an affair, this time with his boss Kelly. Brett stays at "The Buckingham Motel". Kim eventually asks him back, but he is still conducting the affair. Sharon meets a man, Marriat, online and they become engaged. She is heart broken to later learn that he does not actually exist, but is just a blog. Kath and Kel become backup dancers for Michael Bublé at Carols by Candlelight, Melbourne. Kath's affection for him results in Kel letting out his "green eyed monster". She tells him that he shouldn't bother going home as he wouldn't be welcome. Kel too goes to stay at "The Buckingham". Kath forgives Kel and he returns home for Christmas. Kath and Kel also receive strange messages from John Monk (Barry Humphries), the albino running Da Vinci Code tour, including one saying "44 Euros". John Monk visits their home. Kel thinks he has cracked the code and Monk is going to kill them, but he just wants to offer them a franchise. An epilogue shows Kath's first day as a tour guide on the Da Vinci Code 2 tour: G'day Leonardo.

While driving through New Mexico, the Henley family – Jim, his wife Patty, their daughter Kate, son Matt, along with Matt's friend Ethan – discover the whereabouts of Weaver, a ghost town, and decide to take a detour to it to take pictures. Stopping at a diner in ther neighboring town of Two Wells, the family asks about Weaver but the patrons, all seeming dazed, claim not to have heard of the town, although a gas station attendant warns Jim to "stay on the pavement". The Henleys make their way to Weaver, where they find a wall with a mysterious symbol and a human-sized dried skin. They discover a videotape which shows previous visitors being taken by an unseen force, ending with a girl running from the unknown threat. Unnerved, the family try to leave but the SUV battery is dead and they are forced to spend the night in one of the abandoned buildings.

It's 1988 and two best friends from Ireland (Jimeoin McKeown, Alan McKee) flee from Belfast after a violent confrontation with Colin (Robert Morgan) of the IRA and illegally enter Australia. The two fear immigration officers, and (after some gentle persuasion) Fergus Montague (McKeown) goes on a TV dating game show and wins a trip to Queensland in the process. This, however, occurs just as the pair's apartment is raided by immigration officer Derek Johnson [(Nicolas Bell)] and Wesley Murray (McKee) is forced to escape and eventually joins his friend in Queensland. Meanwhile, Colin is sent to Australia in a witness protection program after he gives up some of his former colleagues, and (much to the skepticism of his watchers, the SAS) names Fergus and Wesley as terrorists. Irritated by their lack of progress he eventually takes off to find them himself.

Amy's (Alana De Roma) father, Will Enker (Nick Barker), was a popular rock musician accidentally electrocuted while performing on stage. The psychological trauma leaves Amy mute and deaf. So the 8-year-old is brought by her mother, Tanya (Rachel Griffiths), to Melbourne to diagnose the reasons for her continued silence.
