Ratan Thakore Grant is a theatre personality based in Bangalore. From theatre, television and film personality, Ratan has played the protagonist in several theatre productions for over two decades. Recent productions include Children of a Lesser God, Come and See My City from Here, Divorce Me, Darling!, Silly Cow and The Rainmaker. Film credits include the award winning film Jungle Boy (1998), Outhouse (1999) - an official Indian entry to Cannes, Minus 1 (2003) and the TV series Professor Vasan and South Parade. Ratan Thakore Grant has devoted much of his life to the advancement and propagation of theatre.

Grant is also the founder of the multilingual theatre group MiSF!T (My Interest Stays Firmly In Theatre), a name he coined as he always felt like a misfit during his growing years being 'dyslexic and painfully shy'. His assignments have included fashion shows, plays, and musicals.

MiSF!T Theatre Factory (MTF) was a concept conceived by Grant to use theatre as a foundation to performing arts – dance, music and technology. MTF encompass developing plays, writing original playscripts, interpreting existing play scripts and transforming scripts to actual plays. In doing so, MTF promotes free and open discussions on the process of play productions, theatre styles and the role and use of various types of technologies. "The end objective is to simply make theatre fun, interactive and enjoyable for both the actors and the audience, and bring in a special energy to the spirit of theatre in Bangalore", says Grant. He is currently Mentoring a Team from MSRIT in the Bangalore Theater Festival.

Grant has also been involved with choreography and dance instruction for close to 25 years.

This movie is narrated by Professor John Gellar as he starts off by stating that during a celebration of the jungle spirit Deva in what is supposedly India (even though the area is still ruled by a king) with the celebration held by Rajah Singh, a boy named Suresh disappears into the forest. His mother Prema wants to search for him, but is told it is too dangerous. Suresh is rescued from Sabre the Leopard by the elephant Bono and the monkey Mantoo, and he is given the ability to communicate with the animals. Bono informs the animals present that Sabre has hunted on the Night of Deva and for Sabre to be brought to him. When Sabre appears and Bono scolds him for violating the no hunting rule that occurs on the Night of Deva, Sabre states that he will come for the boy when he is old enough to defend himself. Suresh is named "Manling" and raised by the forest creatures where Bono ends up training the Manling to defend himself when it comes to the day when he has to fight Sabre.
