Tawny Cypress (born August 8, 1976) is an American actress. She has appeared in various television and stage plays. She currently stars as Cherie Rollins-Murray on the television series Unforgettable. She previously had recurring roles on several TV series, including Fox's drama K-Ville as Ginger "Love Tap" LeBeau, Simone Deveaux on the TV series Heroes, and Carly Heath on House of Cards.

Her mother is of Hungarian and German extraction and her father is of African-American and Native American ancestry. Cypress was born and raised in Point Pleasant, New Jersey and now lives in New York City.

Biography

Elle étudia dans trois universités différentes : l'université de Boston, le Westminster Choir College et l'université Rutgers. On peut également noter qu'elle était une ancienne étudiante du Barbara Marchant and The William Esper Studio dans la ville de New York.
En 2000, elle épousa Bill Charles avec qui elle eut un enfant mais elle divorça 4 ans plus tard, en 2004.

Elle commença sa carrière d'actrice de cinéma en 1999, dans le film Stalker Guilt Syndrome et plus tard, elle apparut dans de nombreuses séries et feuilletons télévisés comme New York Police Blues, 100 Centre Street, New York, section criminelle, La Force du destin, New York 911, Jonny Zéro avant d'interpréter un rôle plus notable dans le feuilleton Heroes où elle joue Simone Deveaux.
