Add to a movie listWicked Spring is a 2002 American historical-based dramatic war film directed, produced, and written by Kevin Hershberger, as his first narrative feature film. The fictional portrayal is based on several actual events from the American Civil War, notably fictionalizing an event that took place in 1862 during the Battle of Crampton's Gap. The film focuses on a Harrison Bolding, a Confederate soldier in 1864 who, at night and with two other soldiers from his company, becomes lost while in conflict at the Battle of the Wilderness. The three meet and befriend a trio of Union soldiers that night, but don't realize it until the next morning when the six find themselves trapped between Union and Confederate defenses.
Wicked Spring had a budget of an estimated $500,000, and while initially screening only at film festivals, aired for the first time on ABC Television WJRT in June 2005.
The film was produced by Richard J. Perry (DJ Perry) and executive-produced by Leonard J. Krawezyk for LionHeart FilmWorks, and the MPAA rated the film PG-13.
Synopsis
In 1861, Harrison Bolding (Brian Merrick) bid farewell to his wife and went off to war. In 1864, during the Battle of the Wilderness, as fighting wears down and night begins to fall, Bolding and two other soldiers, James Hogg (Terry Jernigan) and After Stand Kennerly (Aaron Jackson) get separated from their company and in the darkness they become lost in the thick woods. They happen to run into three other soldiers, John Sunderlin (DJ Perry), Augustus Elliot (Curtis Hall), and Pietro Brolo (Mark Lacy) without realizing they are soldiers from the opposite side. The six weary men socialize by the campfire, telling stories and sharing any food they have left.Actors

In colonial America, Lana Borst (Claudette Colbert), the eldest daughter of a wealthy Albany, New York family, marries Gilbert Martin (Henry Fonda). It is the Florida Everglades in 1863. Four deserters of the Confederate Army—Sergeant Todd, Plunkett, Cockney and the Kid—are hiding out. The Colonel, a fellow deserter, appears from the brush with a note from an Indian who has arranged to take him to the ocean so he may be taken to Cuba. Set in 1877, the story follows Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe, who lived in the border area of Idaho and Oregon. As President Ulysses S. Grant permits white settlers to come to both territories, the native Nez Perce fight back and defy the order from Grant to leave their home ground. The U.S. Army, commanded by General Oliver Howard (a Civil War Veteran) is then sent out to push the tribe out, leading to war. The fight between whites (both soldiers and settlers) and tribe members increases, leading Joseph to try for an escape to Canada, but deep down he fears a long, costly fight with a tough enemy. As he says to one tribesmen who killed a white man for another tribe member's murder on the eve of war, "You have had your revenge. Now the white man will have his".

Kenan (Mario Drmać), a Bosniak classical musician, and Milan (Tarik Filipović), a Serb, live in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in a clandestine gay relationship. When the Bosnian War breaks out in 1992, they try to escape from the city. In order to hide from Serbian militamen, Kenan disguises himself as a woman and Milan passes him of as his wife. Together, they go to Milan's village in Eastern Bosnia, a Serb stronghold, where they continue to live in deception. However, Milan is soon conscripted into the army and Kenan is left behind in the village. Ranka, a woman from the village, discovers Kenan's secret and seduces him.

In the state of Virginia in 1864, during the American Civil War, family patriarch Charlie Anderson (James Stewart) and his six sons Jacob, John, James, Nathan, Henry, and Boy (who is 16) run the family farm, while his daughter Jennie (Rosemary Forsyth) and daughter-in-law Ann (Katharine Ross) take care of the housework. The family has no slaves. Though Charlie attends church weekly and considers himself a "God fearing" man, he doesn't give God credit for anything, but takes credit for himself especially during dinner prayer. Sick of the betrayals the United States government has perpetrated on the Native Americans, Colonel William Ludlow retires with his family to a remote part of Montana with One Stab, a Cree friend, where they build a ranch.
