Synopsis
Katharina vit avec son mari Christophe, architecte réputé, et leur fille Nelly, dans la banlieue de Hambourg. Tous les matins, elle rejoint son travail en train. Elle y rencontre un jour Alexander, avec qui elle bavarde un peu. Le surlendemain, il se présente à son travail et l'invite à déjeuner. Emily Jenkins (Renée Zellweger) is a social worker living in Oregon, who is assigned to investigate the family of ten-year-old Lillith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland), as her grades have declined and an emotional rift with her parents has emerged.
