A Batalha do Passinho (Portuguese: "Passinho Battle", lit. "The Battle of Passinho"; English release title Passinho Dance-Off) is a 2012 Brazilian documentary film directed by Emílio Domingos. The film follows a dance known as "passinho", which emerged from the funk carioca scene, and became a viral internet sensation after a video was posted on YouTube.

Synopsis
The style of dancing which developed in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro and is known as passinho evolved out of the funk carioca scene. After a video of a group of friends at a barbecue, Passinho Foda, received four million hits on YouTube, dancers from other communities began to upload their own home-made clips, and the dance quickly spread across Rio de Janeiro. The documentary shows the dancers and the phenomenon expanding beyond the bailes, slums and DJs.Comments

The story of two dreams. Marem, a 14-year-old dancer from Senegal, dreams of emigrating to Europe, while Sonia, a Spanish dancer, feels drawn by the magic of Africa. Rize is a documentary following an interview schedule of two related dancing subcultures of Los Angeles: clowning and krumping. The documentary is divided into three distinct sections. The first series of interviews introduces and develops the clowning dance style. The second series explains how the dance style, krumping, evolved from the original clowning and matured into its own identity. The third section of the film depicts a dance battle called The Battle Zone which takes place between clowns and krumpers at the Great Western Forum in 2004. The film style and soundtrack draws creative ties between African dance and developing style of krump. An atypical sequence in the film uses montage to compare 1940s era anthropological films of African dance ritual with contemporary clowning and krumping dance maneuvers.

Nora is based on the life of dancer Nora Chipaumire, who was born in Zimbabwe in 1965. In the film, Nora returns to the landscape of her childhood and travels through the vivid memories of her youth. Using performance and dance, she brings her story to life in a swift poem of sounds and images. Shot entirely on location in South Africa, Nora portrays a multitude of local performers and dancers of all ages, from schoolchildren to grandmothers. Much of the film’s music was specially composed by the legend of Zimbabwean music, Thomas Mapfumo.
