Synopsis

Le portrait de de huit quadragénaires dépassés et déconcertés par leur vie. Incapables d'exprimer leurs émotions, ils se retrouvent projetés dans des situations à la fois comiques et pathétiques, révelant leur conflit majeur : la crise d'identité masculine. Entre déprime, séduction, amour, infidélité et solitude, une radiographie de la vie amoureuse des hommes d'aujour'hui qui dépeint sans concession leurs faiblesses et leur quête d'une nouvelle identité.

Àlex, a shy and reserved filmmaker suffering from screenwriter's block, goes on holiday to a village in the Pyrenees to stay with his old friend Santi, who has a cabin there. Together the two friends go to have dinner with Santi's lesbian neighbor, Judith, who in turn is receiving the visit of a Monica, a violinist. Alfredo López is an exasperated encyclopedia salesman for the Montoya Publishing House and lives with his faithful wife Carmen in 1973 Spain.
