Ah Long Pte Ltd () is a 2008 comedy film directed by Singaporean film director Jack Neo, starring Fann Wong and Mark Lee. Co-produced by MediaCorp Raintree Pictures, Scorpio East Pictures and Double Vision (Malaysia), the film was mostly shot in Malaysia, in the city of Kuala Lumpur, with a budget of S$1.2 million. This film is also the seventh collaboration between MediaCorp Raintree Pictures and Jack Neo.

Ah Long Pte Ltd was released in Singapore on 7 February 2008, and in Malaysia on 13 March. Its languages consist of Mandarin (in a heavily Johor-accented version as spoken by Mark Lee), Hokkien and Cantonese.

Synopsis

Chen Jun is the leader of Shao He Triad, which has a number of illegal businesses operating in Malaysia and Singapore. He is retiring from the Triad and money-lending business. He is succeeded by a young lady, Wang Lihua, who tries to restructure the "Ah Long (loan shark) system" with as little use of violence as possible while making debtors pay back.

The plot revolves around the lives of three close friends: Keong (Jack Neo), a spendthrift white-collar worker, Ong (Mark Lee), a general contractor, and Hui (Henry Thia), a kopi tiam waiter. After an argument with his boss (Chen Zhao Jin), Keong quits his job and is unable to get another due to his poor command of English, lack of academic qualifications and computer illiteracy. With bills (especially instalments) to pay and a family to support, he goes heavily into debt whereupon his wife leaves him, taking their daughter with her. Ong borrows S$40,000 from loan sharks, and plans to repay them after collecting a debt owed him by a friend who subsequently runs away. The loan sharks beat up Ong for not repaying the loan within the two-week deadline, so he flees to Johor Bahru. Hui, who is single and lives with his elderly mother, wastes his meagre salary on 4D and pursuing an insurance agent who he has a crush on.

Whilst at his workplace (a funeral parlour), Lim (Kang Jing Rong) discovers a mysterious book that is wordless, but, though, has a "Book Spirit" (Mark Lee) in it, who decides to gives him winning lottery numbers and financial advice. The winnings at first are meager, and are soon quickly depleted as Lim shares them with his two chums, Ah Nam (Brendan Yuan) and Lao Hui (Henry Thia), both of whom excavate bones from old graves for a living. Not wanting to turn from sudden riches to rags, Lim quickly approaches the Book Spirit once more. The spirit cautions Lim and warns him to think first, for there would be consequences, should he want to strike big. Overwhelmed by the thought of the vast fortune he would receive, Lim agrees to pay the price for his riches, although uncertain of what it would be. As Lim's life gets better and more lavish, he also becomes increasingly dependent on the Book Spirit, seeking its advice in everything. Soon, the Book Spirit reveals the price for which Lim has to pay for all his acquired riches... his life! It is only with Lim’s demise that he can be the next Book Spirit, thus liberating the current Book Spirit. Little does Lim expect, the richer he gets, the closer he is to his death.
