Synopsis
Tess (Ryan Simpkins) is a teenage girl that has suffered for years from what appears to be mental instability, diagnosed by doctors as an identity disorder. Her mother Jessica (Annika Marks) is hoping that a move to a new home will give them both the chance to start fresh, but a series of strange events linked to Tess's supposed disorder brings about much chaos.Actors

In 1990, architect Frank Bannister loses his wife Debra in a car accident. He gives up his profession, letting his unfinished "dream house" sit incomplete for years. Reijiro Hieda, a young and energetic archeologist, has been discredited since advocating heretical theories. A letter from his brother-in-law Yabe, a junior high school teacher, tells of his discovery of an ancient tomb built to appease evil spirits. Hieda eagerly goes to investigate, only to find that Yabe has mysteriously disappeared along with one of his students, Reiko Tsukishima. Meanwhile, Yabe's son, Masao, searches for his father in the school during summer vacation and encounters Reiko. Masao becomes engulfed in a mysterious atmosphere, and strange creatures appear, upon which his back begins to ache and emit smoke. Hieda appears and saves Masao. Together they search the premises and find a sea of blood and a headless body while Reiko's quiet voice is heard singing.

Rose Elliot (Miracle), a poet living alone in New York City, finds an ancient book called The Three Mothers. It tells of three evil sisters who rule the world with sorrow, tears, and darkness. The book, written by an architect named Varelli, reveals that the three dwell inside separate homes that had been built for them by the architect in Rome, Freiburg, and New York. Rose suspects that she is living in one of the buildings and writes to her brother Mark (McCloskey) in Rome, urging him to visit her. Using clues provided in the book as a guide, Rose searches the cellar of her building and discovers a hole in the floor which leads to a water-filled ballroom. She accidentally drops her keys and enters the water to find them. After she reclaims the keys, a putrid corpse suddenly rises from the depths, frightening her.
