Kaleeswaran (Karthi) is an impulsive and short tempered working class man who works in a company and enjoys playing football during his free time. His best friend is Anbu (Kalaiyarasan), who is a young political aspirant. They along with their gang live in the dilapidated flats of the housing board in Vyasarpadi, North Chennai. In a long standing bloody feud, two factions of a political party have been laying claim to a wall on which they can paint the portraits of their respective political leaders. Anbu, under the local leader of one of the opposing parties, Maari (Vinod), is determined to claim that wall for their own party. The Other party chief is Kannan and Perumal who are hell bent in making sure that their opponents efforts go in vain. The two parties and their supporters get into frequent clashes and scrapes. In the meantime, Kaali falls in love with Kalaiarasi (Catherine Tresa) and she too reciprocates his feelings.

The story revolves around two friends who work hard and spend the money for travelling various parts of the country. In one such trip they involuntarily helped one love pair while they were eloping. Sadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorji) is a notorious mafia leader who escaped India after various terrorist attacks and conquered the underworld of the entire southeast Asia, and no one dares to challenge Sadhu Bhai. Baadshah (N. T. Rama Rao Jr.) enters the underworld for his father (Mukesh Rishi). Jeeva (Karthi) is a typical Chennai youngster. His father Pragasam (Jayaprakash), a call taxi driver, shows love and affection on him. A driving instructor (Vikram), who calls himself by various names such as "James Bond", "Mani Ratnam", "Sunil Gavaskar" etc. (but never reveals his actual name), is assigned by a local goon Doss (Pasupathy) to deliver a "package" to one Pooran Singh (Abhimanyu Singh) in Mussoorie. The "package" is Shakeela (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), an orphaned woman who has failed her driving test 14 times. The driving instructor is constantly irritated by Shakeela's antics during the journey to Mussoorie, but soon falls in love with her after finding out that she is an orphan. At Mussoorie, he learns from Pooran Singh that Shakeela is to be "delivered" to one Daksha Bhai (Rahul Dev), an upper-caste landlord from an Uttarakhand-based village. He "delivers" Shakeela to Daksha Bhai and is invited to stay at his ancestral mansion for a couple of days. During the stay, he finds out why Shakeela has been "delivered" to Daksha Bhai.

The first scene of the film shows Arya (Allu Arjun) being carried into an operation theatre. His friend Ajay (Navdeep) narrates how Arya changed his life. In their childhood, Arya stays in an orphanage where he has no friends or family. By force, he befriends Ajay who also is in that orphanage. One day, Ajay is adopted by a rich family and leaves the orphanage behind him. As time passes, he becomes a big shot business tycoon and has his own software company, but Arya becomes a drunkard and does anything for Ajay. Ajay feels ashamed to say that Arya is his friend and avoids him. But Arya convinces him that he would be a good boy if he be given a job in Ajay's company. Die hard friend Arya just wanted to stay close to Ajay. But Ajay has one condition that if Arya is proven as a "bad boy" in the office, he has to leave the company. Thus, Arya converts himself into a " Mr. Perfect" without any defect and joins the company. Everyone in the company are fond of Arya, especially Shanti (Shraddha Das) who is madly in love with him. One day Geeta (Kajal Aggarwal) joins the company and Ajay and Arya both immediately fall in love with her. Arya is now Geeta's Team Lead. In a lift one day, while Geeta converses with Arya, suddenly he kisses her. In many other instances also, Arya keeps confessing his love to Geetha without anyone knowing about it. Ajay now wants to get rid of Arya. So, he crashes his own (Ajay's) car and weaves a story that Arya has crashed him. He did so, so that everyone would accuse Arya and he would be fired. At this juncture, Geeta comes to know that Ajay too loves her.
