Broche de Oro is a 2012 Puerto Rican comedy film directed by Raúl Marchand Sánchez, starring Jacobo Morales, Adrián García, Diego de la Texera and Luis Omar O'Farrill.

Synopsis

Carlos (Luis Omar O'Farrill) is an aspiring surfer, whose father, Alberto (Carlos Esteban Fonseca), disapproves of his passion. They both visit Alberto's father, Rafael (Jacobo Morales), at the Catholic retirement home he lives in. Carlos is left with his grandfather and his friends Pablo (Diego de la Texera) and Anselmo (Adrián García), whom Pablo nicknames "Elmo". Alberto later picks up Carlos, he tells Rafael he and Carlos are moving to Orlando for his job, leaving Rafael without words. After leaving the retirement home and realizing what little time he has before he moves, Carlos calls Rafael later that night to invite him and his elder friends to a road trip to Loíza for a surfing competition and for Rafael to show him the family land. Early the next morning, the elders manage to sneak out of the retirement home through the kitchen and head out to Loíza with Carlos driving his father's car. After realizing their absence, the Madre Superiora of the retirement home (Marian Pabón) recurs to the help of Noberto (Luis Raúl), the home's security guard, to retrieve the elders and bring them back.

Fielding Mellish (Woody Allen) is the main character, but he does not appear until after the opening credits. The cold open, which featured the assassination of the president of the fictional "banana republic" of San Marcos that completed a coup d'état bringing Gen. Emilio Molina Vargas (Carlos Montalban) to power, sets up the situation that Mellish would enter later in the movie. The scene was in the form of a championship boxing telecast on Wide World of Sports, with Don Dunphy as the host and Howard Cosell as the commentator.

Death and destruction follow, as one of the archeologists becomes possessed, and begins killing everyone around him. Sam Stewart and wife Marla (Joan Severance) find it has some connection to their friend Martin. A young boy named Jacob (Chris Young) is haunted by terrifying nightmares of what is to come, and his grandfather (William Hickey) explains these dreams through stories from Norse legend, which says that the only one who can destroy Fenrir is Týr, the Norse god of single combat, victory and heroic glory, who is prophesied to return to fight the creature. In the nick of time, the mystical Clockmaker (Alexander Godunov), who actually is Týr, one-handed Norse God of combat, begins fighting Fenrir. The film cast includes Peter Riegert as a Pez popping, cussing policeman, and features a cameo by composer David Newman as a police officer named Strange.

In 1958, Katey Miller (Romola Garai), her parents (Sela Ward and John Slattery), and her younger sister Susie (Mika Boorem) arrive in Cuba during the Cuban revolution. A self-described bookworm, Katey is not very happy about having to move to a different country during her senior year of high school, as she had been planning to attend Radcliffe College, although the rest of her family seem extremely pleased to be in Cuba. Meeting several other rich American teenagers down by the pool, including James Phelps (Jonathan Jackson), the son of her father's boss, Katey becomes disgusted when one of the teenagers insults a local waiter when he accidentally knocks over some of their drinks. Katey attempts to talk to the waiter—Javier (Diego Luna), who works at the hotel to support his family—because she feels awful about what had occurred but he is not interested.
