Carnival Story is a 1954 film directed by Kurt Neumann, produced by Frank King and Maurice King, starring Anne Baxter and Steve Cochran, and released by RKO Radio Pictures.
Sometimes this film is credited as a 3D feature, although it wasn't filmed or exhibited in a three-dimensional process. This idea in many sources may be based on a wrong note from Variety in 1953. Neumann simultaneously directed a German language version Rummelplatz der Liebe (1954) with Bernhard Wicki, Eva Bartok, and Curd Jürgens.
The melodrama set in a circus was filmed in Munich and Bavaria. The film was shot in Agfacolor with prints by Technicolor.
Synopsis
Grayson's traveling carnival comes to Munich with acts that include high-dive artist Frank Collini and silent strongman Groppo. A local girl named Willi picks the pocket of Joe, who works for the carny, but she ends up being offered a job.Actors

Bianca, la star du trapèze du cirque Baretti, aime Tito, le clown, et subit les avances du prince héritier d'Illyria, qui se fait appeler le Comte Cassati. Le prince poursuit aussi de ses assiduités la femme d'un propriétaire terrien des environs, et tue son mari lorsque celui-ci les trouve ensemble. Rendu fou par les refus constants de Bianca, le prince la fait venir dans son hôtel particulier à l'aide d'une fausse lettre, mais elle s'en évade par la fenêtre grâce à ses talents de gymnaste. Tito vient à son aide et lors d'une lutte avec le prince le fait tomber à la mer à travers une fenêtre. D'une ressemblance étonnante avec le prince, Tito assume cette nouvelle identité pour éviter les poursuites. Comme elle croit que Tito a été tué par le prince, Bianca quitte le cirque pour assouvir sa vengeance. Lors du couronnement, elle est sur le point d'assassiner le "prince" lorsque celui-ci lui révèle sa véritable identité. Ensemble ils rejoignent alors le cirque.

The plot centres around knifethrower Gabor (Auteuil) and a girl called Adèle (Paradis), who intends to kill herself by jumping from a bridge. Mia, a young woman in a small American Midwestern town goes to a traveling carnival one evening, where she is urged by a silent clown to visit the carnival's circus and see the Aerialist, the show's star attraction.
