Synopsis
Stacy (Lea Thompson) has a promiscuous past, and after learning of the AIDS epidemic she wants to find a guy whom she knows is clean, so she convinces her childhood friend Melissa (Victoria Jackson) to go to a health spa (or resort) for singles so that they can hopefully each find the man of their dreams. It shows them having received or possibly having bought a basket filled with condoms. At the spa, Stacy meets Nick (Stephen Shellen), a struggling musician whom she is taken with, and also encounters Vinny, aka the Vin Man (Andrew Dice Clay), an annoying Italian-American man from New Jersey whom she tries to avoid.Actors

L'action se situe au Nebraska à la fin du XIX siècle. Amy et Martin Hightower sont un couple de fermiers qui travaillent dur et qui ont quatre enfants. À la suite d'un malaise Amy se rend chez le médecin et comprend que ses jours sont comptés, elle persuade alors son mari de trouver une autre femme pour la remplacer auprès de lui dans les travaux de la ferme. Après plusieurs recherches infructueuses, elle finit par rencontrer Pearl une prostituée, qui l'âge venant n'a plus le succès de ses débuts. La cohabitation ne se fait pas sans mal, mais quand Amy se rend compte qu'elle ne peut plus avoir de relations sexuelles avec son mari, elle pousse celui-ci à coucher avec Pearl, celui-ci commence par refuser avant de se laisser tenter. Lorsqu'Amy semble être guérie, les trois protagonistes mettent au point les règles de ce qui deviendra un ménage à trois. Plus tard Amy fait une rechute et décède. Pearl restera auprès de Martin pour élever les enfants et s'occuper de la ferme.

Edward Lewis (Richard Gere), a successful workaholic businessman and corporate raider in Los Angeles on business, accidentally takes a detour on Hollywood Boulevard while looking for Beverly Hills. They spend the night watching I Love Lucy reruns and having sex.

The film begins with Gilly Noble (Chris Klein) taking a stray cat named "Ringo" to the animal shelter where he works in Shelbyville, Indiana. The film opens up by introducing Alfie (Jude Law), a charismatic, charming, bed-hopping, Vespa-riding Cockney who resides in Manhattan. Meeting, romancing, and seducing women comes as second nature to Alfie. In addition to maintaining a casual relationship with a single mother named Julie (Marisa Tomei) that he refers to as his "semi-regular-quasi-sort-of-girlfriend thing", he also sleeps with various girls on the side, such as the married-yet-neglected-by-her-husband blonde named Dorie (Jane Krakowski) whom he regularly meets for sex after work in the back of his limo. At the first inkling Dorie may desire their liaison to grow into something more, he decides to stop all contact. Alfie ultimately views women as expendable, cutting them loose as soon as he feels they're starting to cramp his style.
