Synopsis

Deux professeurs de musique, Diana Deason et Ken Stoddard, apprennent que seul l'un d'eux va pouvoir conserver son poste suite à la fusion de deux lycées. Pour les départager, le proviseur du lycée leur suggère de participer à un concours de chants de Noël qui passera à la télévision. Ayant une conception très différente de l'enseignement, Diana et Ken ont du mal à se supporter et les tensions s'exacerbent à l'approche du concours. Encouragée par une amie, Diana s'inscrit sur un site de rencontres. Le hasard fait qu'elle se retrouve à deux reprises face à Ken.
