Chronicle of a Homicide (Italian: Imputazione di omicidio per uno studente, also known as Italian Streetfighters) is a 1972 Italian crime-drama film directed by Mauro Bolognini.

Synopsis

Fabio, un étudiant en architecture, militant de Lotta Continua, formation de l'extrême-gauche italienne, participe à une manifestation. Celle-ci dégènère en affrontement sanglant entre forces de l'ordre et jeunes contestataires. Au cours de cet événement, un étudiant est tué d'une balle de calibre 7,65. Fabio est lui-même violemment malmené. Il s'empare alors d'un poing américain, trouvé au sol, et blesse mortellement un agent de police. Alors qu'un de ses compagnons, Massimo Trotti, est inculpé pour ce meurtre, Fabio veut se constituer prisonnier mais son responsable politique l'en dissuade. Le juge Aldo Sola, le propre père de Fabio, est chargé d'enquêter sur les deux assassinats. Les premiers interrogatoires ne donnent pas de résultats fiables : les culpabilités respectives n'ont guère été formellement établies. Afin de prouver l'innocence de Massimo, Fabio subtilise dans le bureau de son père les procès-verbaux d'instruction et transmet les copies au journal La Cause du Peuple, organe de Lotta Continua, qui publie en titre : « La magistrature accumule de fausses preuves contre Trotti ». Désormais, la confrontation entre un père et son fils s'avère inévitable.

Bubù renonce à son métier d'artisan boulanger par paresse et parce qu'il considère que l'on peut gagner plus d'argent autrement. Il décide donc de vendre les charmes de Berta, sa compagne, qui accepte ce commerce, par amour pour lui. Mais Berta contracte bientôt la syphilis et entre à l'hôpital. Bubù, désargenté et affamé, dérobe la caisse d'une boutiquière : il est très vite arrêté et emprisonné. Après une période d'incertitudes, Berta retrouve Piero, un étudiant qui fut autrefois son client et à qui elle a transmis la maladie. Piero demeure pourtant très attaché à elle et accepte de l'héberger durant quelque temps.

During the end of the 19th century, young Metello decides to start a new life after the sudden loss of his parents. He meets a young girl, Ersilia. They get married and have a son. The film opens in a Warri prison in the Niger Delta where a noose is being set up to hang Ebiere (Mbong Amata). It switches to Los Angeles, California; Tom Hudson (Mickey Rourke), CEO of Western Oil is kidnapped on his way to the airport by a movement group tagged "United People's Front for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta People of Nigeria". The kidnap is carried out by Tamuno (Enyinna Nwigwe - the leader of the movement, Timi (Wyclef Jean), Opuwei (Akon), Timi (Razaaq Adoti) and Pere (Robert Peters) after orchestrating an accident near the second street tunnel. Also kidnapped is a reporter, Kristy (Kim Basinger) and her cameraman. Tom Hudson, his wife (Kristin Peterson) and Kristy, together with several others at the accident scene are captured and held hostage within this tunnel which has already been closed off on both sides by the group. Seven hours, no communication is heard from the tunnel - the police, the anti-terrorism unit and the general public have no idea who the "terrorists" are or what they want. Meanwhile in the tunnel, Tamuno tells Tom that they are in Los Angeles to save Ebiere and declares that if Ebiere is eventually hung in Nigeria, then the "truly guilty" ones should go with her. He releases the women and children and instructs Kristy to record what is happening in the tunnel.

Arms trade is taking place in India. An arsenal enters Indian territory via the state of Rajasthan, which makes its way to interior of India with help of many middlemen. In Washington DC, CIA agent Mike Nordstrom (John Forsythe) debriefs him and learns that Russian ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads are to be placed in Cuba. Needing physical evidence of the missiles, he contacts an old friend, French agent André Devereaux (Frederick Stafford), at his house in Georgetown. Nordstrom discloses Kusenov's name to Devereaux, asking him to bribe Luis Uribe, a member of Cuba's U.N. delegation, to provide photographs of documents confirming the missile bases in Cuba (knowing that Uribe hates the United States and would never cooperate with an American agent). Devereaux decides to accompany his daughter Michèle (Claude Jade) on her honeymoon with journalist François Picard (Michel Subor) as a reason to go to New York City. His wife Nicole (Dany Robin) is worried and tries to dissuade him.
