The film centers on the main character Henry Spooner (played by Michael A. Goorjian), the school nerd who has a crush on Lori, the prettiest, most popular girl in his high school. After a conversation with his friend he mutters under his breath that he would sell his soul to the Devil to go out with Lori. From that point on, he gets his wish to date Lori, but things don't go according to plan.
Part of the soundtrack includes the song "Let Yourself Go", which was written and performed by L.A. musician Paul Delph for his final album A God That Can Dance. The song is included in the final scene.

Reed Fish (Jay Baruchel) has followed in the footsteps of his late father, doing an early-morning radio show with the town's mayor, Maureen (Katey Sagal), through which the eccentric locals of Mud Meadows voice their complaints and have them addressed. Reed produces the show with his old high school buddy, Frank (Victor Rasuk), and he's engaged to be married to another high school classmate, Kate Peterson (Alexis Bledel), whose dad (Blake Clark) owns several businesses in town. Abby Morrison has lived a sheltered life. She has an imaginary boyfriend Sy since she was five; it was all because she never had her parents and real friends with her. Quinn,after seeking advice from his roommate and cousin, searches for Abby and while looking for her in a club he once took her to, he finds a portrait of himself painted by Abby and notices an image in the background of Abby at the rink. He finds her there and kisses her.
