Considering football sensation Dragoslav Šekularac (nicknamed Šeki, hence the film's title) was probably the first sports superstar in Yugoslavia whose fame transcended sporting bounds, the popularity he enjoyed during his playing heyday was the main reason that Šeki snima, pazi se came about. The film was football-related and was built around his public persona.
The film featured other cult-figure pop icons in smaller roles such as singer Lola Novaković, the band Sedmorica mladih and actor Jovan "Burduš" Janićijević.

The police prepares to trap the Drug Lord of Naples. The plan fails and Rizzo (Bud Spencer) decides to interrogate him for the last time, but when he arrives the Drug Lord has been murdered. Rizzo is accused of the murder and decides to investigate the arrival of an Italo-American mafia man, Frank Barella (Al Lettieri). The information given by Barella and Ferramenti (Dominic Barto) makes Rizzo believe that there is a rat in the police department, and, therefore, he must go to the Far East to find out who he is. On his way through Thailand, Hong Kong and Macau, Rizzo encounters Barella, and this leads him to believe who is the corrupt police senior.

Raja Rao Bahadur (Kanta Rao) is the head of a wealthy and charitable landlord family who has a young son Sreedhar. At his son's request, Rao helps his college friend (Hari) with the costs of higher education abroad. Hari is grateful and invites Sreedhar to his sister Laxmi's (Sangeeta) wedding in the village. Due to unusual circumstances, Sreedhar ends up marrying Lakshmi. This enrages Mukkamala who is the Raja's brother-in-law, who was hopeful of getting his daughter (Jaya Malini) married to Sreedhar.
