In the 18th century, Louis Dominique Bourguignon is working with Malichot's gang, but their ways are too 'unethical' for him. He hides out from Malichot and joins the army, where he and his two new friends survive by hiding out on the battlefield. Together they rob the general of his gold. Fleeing, they stop at an inn where they meet Venus, a beautiful gypsy who has been taken prisoner. He rescues her and she joins his gang. Returning to Paris, de Bourguignon creates his own band, acting under the name of Cartouche, and most of Malichot's gang join him. They make audacious robberies of the rich people, and distribute the takings with the poor. Thus, Cartouche attracts the people's sympathies, Venus's love, and hate from the Police and Malichot. Malichot goes to the police to betray Cartouche, but Cartouche can escape all the traps they set at him - except the entrapments of love. Eventually, the police use this against him and set a trap while he has a tryst with Venus in the countryside. He is captured, but his men ambush the guards as they lead him away. In the scuffle that follows, Cartouche is saved by Venus, who sacrifices her life to save him from harm. Cartouche and his men place Venus's body in an expensive carriage they stole earlier from a nobleman and roll the carriage in a lake. As the carriage slowly sinks Cartouche tells his men to disperse as he vows to avenge the death of his beloved Venus - a way that he anticipates will lead him sooner or later to the gallows.

The film is divided into four episodes. In the first Giacinto and his wife decide to celebrate their wedding anniversary by watching a movie at the cinema. However, the period in which they live is dotted by the deployment of a large number of pornographic films and the two, being simpletons, run into a projection at red lights. In the third episode a woman, Armida, is struggling with the pornographic magazines, with the risk of compromising his family relationship. In the last episode the crude and vulgar producer Giuseppe Costanzo is releasing his latest movie-themed sex. But the girl who must interpret the "deflowered" by the young actor suddenly decides to run away leaving the production to violence. Joseph did not do more and is enraged to death. Of all the attempts to reconcile the relationship with the actress, but everything is useless. One narrative follows Miss Monde 1984/Miss Canada (Carole Laure), who wins a contest of the "most virgin"; her prize is the marriage to a milk industry tycoon (John Vernon). However, following his degrading puritanical introduction to intercourse, she vents her intention to leave to her mother-in-law who, at that point, nearly has her killed. The family bodyguard (Roy Callender) takes her away, further humiliates her, and finally packs her in a trunk bound for Paris. She finds herself on the Eiffel Tower, where she absently meets and has intercourse with a Latin singer, El Macho (Sami Frey). The sexual act is interrupted by touring nuns who frighten the lovers into penis captivus. In her post-coital shocked state, she is adopted into an artist community led by Otto Muehl, where she finds affectionate care. The commune practices some liberating sessions, where a member, with the assistance of the others, goes through a (re)birth experience, cries, urinates and defecates like a baby, while the others are cleaning and pampering him. Later she is seen acting for an obscene advertisement, in which she is naked, covered in liquid chocolate.

L'Audience suit le parcours d’un jeune homme catholique, Amedeo (Enzo Janacci), qui a quitté sa ville natale, dans le nord de l’Italie, pour venir à Rome, avec une idée fixe : obtenir une audience privée du pape Paul VI à qui il a des révélations très importantes à faire. Elle le met en rapport avec un politicien d’extrême droite, le prince Donati (Vittorio Gassman), qui le recommande à Monseigneur Amerin (Michel Piccoli), un prêtre moderne. Mais c’est à un père Jésuite (Alain Cuny), rencontré au cours d’un dîner, qu’Amedeo dira, en secret, son message au Pape : le prêtre paraît bouleversé par son contenu.
