Synopsis
The close friendship of plasterer David (Steve John Shepherd) and mature-aged student Theo (John Simm) becomes threatened when Theo reveals that he intends to move in with Hannah (Laura Fraser), his photographer girlfriend of six months. The short-tempered David, intensely protective of his best friend, plots to break the pair up, using Hannah’s insecurities against them. When they do separate, David reveals his sexual orientation and true feelings for Theo on his favourite talk-show, Judith Adams' (Meera Syal) Forgive and Forget.Actors

When young Glaswegian cook Nina Shah (Shelley Conn) returns home for her father's funeral after three estranged years in London, England, she begins a romantic relationship with Lisa (Laura Fraser), an old childhood friend who now owns half the late father's Indian restaurant, The New Taj. Together they seek to save the restaurant by winning the national "Best in the West Curry Competition" for a third time. A straight bass player in an "all gay band" called The Jerk-Offs, Nick O'Leary (Michael Cera) is a teenager from Hoboken, New Jersey. Nick is still heartbroken after his girlfriend, Tris (Alexis Dziena), broke up with him three weeks, two days, and 23 hours ago, and continues to make for her "breakup" mix CDs. Thom (Aaron Yoo) and Dev (Rafi Gavron), his gay bandmates who both hate Tris, convince Nick to perform at a club because his favorite band— the legendary, publicity-shy indie band Where's Fluffy? —is performing somewhere in New York City that night. Norah Silverberg (Kat Dennings) attends the same high school as Tris, Convent of the Sacred Heart, and though Norah and Tris dislike each other, they have a mutual friend named Caroline (Ari Graynor). Norah has not met Nick, but shares his taste in music based on recovering his mix CDs after Tris discards them in the trash. That night, the three girls end up at Arlene's Grocery on Manhattan's Lower East Side, where The Jerk-Offs are playing. Norah asks Nick to pretend to be her boyfriend to show up Tris. Norah kisses him, unaware that he is the ex-boyfriend of Tris. Caroline gets drunk and Norah wants to take her home, but Nick's bandmates (who see Norah as a potential new girlfriend for him) offer to take Caroline home so Norah and Nick can spend time together trying to find the show.

Marie Deschamps, une jeune cégepienne de 20 ans interrompt sa session collégiale pour aller apprendre l'anglais dans l'ouest canadien. Elle se liera d'amitié avec un jeune québécois, J-F, qui habite la région depuis 10 ans. Il lui présentera ses colocs et Marie partagera le chalet avec eux. Les choses se placeront pour Marie, elle finira par se trouver un emploi comme femme de chambre dans un hôtel cinq étoiles et son anglais s'améliore. Sa quête de soi l'amène jusqu'à s'interroger sur son orientation sexuelle. Elle hésite à téléphoner à ses parents qui ne lui parlent que de sa sœur Julie. C'est à la suite d'un accident de ski de J-F qu'elle réalise combien elle tient à lui. Ayant skié hors-piste, J-F ne peut toucher les assurances et est contraint de vendre ses biens dont sa voiture, une Westfalia orange. Marie rachète la Westfalia et décide de continuer sa quête jusqu'au Mexique où elle rejoindra J-F.

Fifth Avenue socialite Ouisa Kittredge (Stockard Channing) and her art dealer husband Flan (Donald Sutherland), are parents of "two at Harvard and one at Groton". But the narrow world inhabited by the Kittredges and their public status as people interested in the arts make them easy prey for Paul (Will Smith). Paul is a skillful con-artist, who mysteriously appears at their door one night, injured and bleeding, claiming to be a close college friend of their Ivy League kids, as well as the son of Sidney Poitier. Ouisa and Flan are much impressed by Paul's fine taste, keen wit, articulate literary expositions and surprising culinary skill. His appealing facade soon has the Kittredges putting him up, lending him money and taking satisfaction in his praise for their posh lifestyle. Paul's scheme continues until he brings home a hustler, and his actual indigence is revealed. The shocked Kittredges kick him out when it is revealed that they are but the most recent victims of the duplicity with which Paul has charmed his way into many upper-crust homes along the Upper East Side. Paul's schemes become highbrow legend – anecdotal accounts of which are bantered about at their cocktail parties. In the end, Paul has a profound effect on the many individuals who encounter him, linking them in their shared experience.

Francis and Marie first meet Nicolas at a dinner party, where they both feign lack of interest in him. Over the next couple of weeks, the three form a close friendship, meeting up regularly and even sleeping together in the same bed. However, it is clear that both Marie and Francis have an interest in Nicolas beyond friendship. Francis is unhappy when Nicolas invites Marie to the theater. Marie is visibly disappointed when she arrives at a Vietnamese restaurant with Nicolas after the play, finds Francis dining with several friends, and watches Nicolas take a seat at the end of the table furthest from her. Francis, left alone in Nicolas' apartment, masturbates while smelling his unlaundered shirt. Both interpret Nicolas' actions as signs of intimacy and affection: Nicolas eats a cherry from Francis' hand; Nicolas tells Marie he loves her and also loves Francis. Alors jeune homme, Frédérick avait été incarcéré en 1941 plus d'un an au camp de Schirmeck en Alsace non pas pour des opinions politiques comme la légende familiale l'affirme depuis 50 ans, mais en application par les autorités françaises des lois de discrimination et de déportation des homosexuels du paragraphe 175 du code pénal allemand. Charles connaissant la réalité, avait dès lors méprisé son père et lui avait enjoint de taire ce secret et de ne pas assister à ses funérailles. Marianne, sa femme qui a toujours connu la vérité, avait accepté cette situation et, malgré tout, avait construit sa famille avec cet homme qu'elle aimait, et qu'elle laissait libre de vivre une vie amoureuse parallèle. Le choc de cette révélation s'abat sur Guillaume et Delphine, la fille de Charles.
