It was directed by Sandip Ray and written by his father Satyajit Ray. This film was released eleven years after its predecessor.
Synopsis
Goopy Gyne and Bagha Byne have ruled the kingdom of Shundi and are bored of royal luxuries. They want to get back to the days of adventure they had enjoyed all their lives, but age comes in the way. They leave the kingdom in search of new experiences. Finally, they reach Anandapur and win the king's heart with their musical abilities and powers. In the court room they meet Brahmananda Acharya, who invites Goopy and Bagha to come to Anandagarh fort. When they go to his place he offers them a job to steal three valuable stones, making use of their miraculous powers gifted by Bhuter Raja (King of Ghosts). In return he promises to make them 20 years younger. They steal two rare stones with a hope to become young again.Actors

Feluda is approached by an established businessman who claims to have mistakenly swapped his suitcase (bakso) in a train with one belonging to one of his co-passengers and now wants Feluda to put it straight. Le chanteur Goopy et le percussionniste Bagha, tous deux chassés de leurs villages respectifs à cause de leurs horribles prestations, font connaissance dans la forêt. Là, ils rencontrent le roi des fantômes, qui content d'eux leur accorde trois vœux. Pour les rendre effectifs, ils doivent en même temps prononcer leur souhait et se frapper la main mutuellement. Munis du pouvoir d'obtenir de la nourriture par magie, de chaussures qui les emmènent instantanément là où ils veulent et surtout d'une merveilleuse habileté au chant et aux percussions, nos deux héros entament un périple fantastique qui les mène à la Cour d'un roi dont ils gagnent les faveurs en remportant un tournoi musical. Ils parviendront à empêcher le déclenchement d'une guerre imminente entre les États voisins de Shundi et Halla, pourtant dirigés par deux frères, mais dont l'un est sous l'influence néfaste d'un magicien qui a du reste également ensorcelé toute la population en la rendant muette. De fil en aiguille, grâce à leur habileté, les deux héros vont combattre les forces du mal et rétablir l'harmonie entre les frères et les royaumes, obtenant même de chacun la main d'une princesse.

The film starts with Tarinikhuro or Tarinicharan Banerjee, one of Satyajit Ray's characters, telling some boys from his fanclub about ghosts. In the first and second stories the ghosts he talks about were Satyajit Ray's Anath Babur Bhoy and Brown Saheber Bari. The last one was Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s Bhut Bhabishyat.(initially four stories were supposed to be filmed, but the fourth one, Lucknowe Duel was dropped later to avoid the length).

Feluda (Abir Chatterjee) and his cousin Topshe (Sourav Das) visit Lucknow with Topshe's father (Deepankar De) to spend the Puja vacation. They arrive at the house of Dhirendra Kumar Sanyal (Biswajit Chakraborty), a friend of Topshe's father. That evening Dr. Shrivastav (Bharat Kaul) also comes to Dhirendra Kumar Sanyal and tells him that last night, a thief tried to steal his 'Ring of Aurangzeb' (The Emperor's Ring) which was given to him by Pyarilaal Seth. After the incident Dr. Shrivastav is afraid and asks Dhirendra Kumar Sanyal to keep the ring safe. Sanyal agrees and keeps the ring at his home. But one day the ring goes missing from there. Then Feluda and Topshe start investigating, to find the culprit.

On an invitation by Mahitosh Singha Ray, Lalmohon Babu robs Feluda and Topshe at a forest near Bhutan and climbs up in the ancestral home of Mahitosh Singha Ray. After few days of their arrival,Mahitosh Singha Ray's assistance, Tarit dies. His deadbody is found in the forest, and police believes he has died due to the tiger's snarl. But later they found a blood-stained sword near his body. Meanwhile, Mahitosh gives Feluda a puzzle to solve. Feluda's amazing intelligence is proved in this part. He solves it most amazingly, and at the end, chalks out that a treasure chest is hidden 55 hands away from a tree which has a hole between it, which looks like an old person's mouth without any teeth; between two Arjuna trees. While Feluda and his companion are on the way to the treasure chest, they finds Tarit's spectacles and later on, his torch, which suggests that Tarit has solved the puzzle much earlier than the others, and was on his way to the treasure chest. At last, Feluda finds the treasure chest, and helds out the conclusion. Mahitosh had broke his hand due to a fall from a tree, which Feluda came to know when he was unable to hold the rifle. All the precious huntings of the tiger were done by his friend, Shashanka. On that night, while Tarit was about to leave, Shashanka too followed him quietly. When there came a Royal Bengal Tiger. Shashanka fired his rifle, which shoot off the tiger's nose after Feluda found a bit of skin. Tarit's sword, as he observed, has begun acting like a magnet, which was created by a flash of lightning. Thus, Tarit wasn't murdered by any villain, but only, the nature was the cause of his death. He, at the end of the story is rewarded with a part of treasure.

The story revolves around the blatant smuggling and illegal trading in ancient sculptures across the country. Detective Feluda steps in to solve the crime and nab the culprits. Lalmohan Ganguly, alias Jatayu − a sidekick of Feluda − gets invited to Mumbai (previously Bombay) to watch the shooting of a film based on a novel written by him.His old friend of Garpar road, Pulak Ghoshal (Paran Bandyopadhyay) is the director. Feluda and Topshe accompany him. One day prior to the journey, a mysterious film producer named Sanyal visits jatayu and tells him that he intends to make a film on the same novel (Bombaiyer Bombete) on which Pulok Ghoshal is making a film. Jatayu tells him that the novel is sold, and thus Sanyal leaves. However, Sanyal requests him to handle a packet to one of his allies at Mumbai Airport, to which Jatayu agrees.
