Add to a movie listGrasshoppers (Cavallette) is an animated short by Bruno Bozzetto which condenses the whole of human civilization into 9 minutes, focusing primarily on the human race's predilection for warfare and the vanity of war. It was an Oscar Nominee for Best Animated Short in 1991.
Each piece of history is presented as a simple vignette, usually depicting a few simply-drawn characters arguing and making war, over and over again. Generally, a single figure is meant to stand in for an entire group (i.e., a single Caesar-like caricature for the entire line of Roman Emperors).
There is very little spoken dialogue; instead, most of the cartoon is accompanied by a bouncy piano-driven score, which frequently changes style to suit the particular historical era. However, the score rests on a single simple theme, to which it frequently returns in between vignettes.

The plot of the film follows the traditional stranger arriving in a small western town. The stranger finds a pretty woman holding out from selling her uniquely green land to the local big shot, who is harassing her in hope of seducing her/buying her land. There's an ongoing mystery about how the stranger got a hold of the gold nugget he possesses, though at the end of the film it is revealed that he found it in a soap box (it's fake).

Jerry casse un vase sur la tête de Tom, qui conduit Maman à jeter Tom dehors. Jerry se délecte de sa liberté, entre autres choses, il transforme la photo de Tom dans une caricature d'Hitler puis crache sur elle. Mais il se fatigue vite de cela, et sous un pavillon de trêve, élabore un plan avec Tom. Anormalement bavard le duo organise une grande chasse, mais quand ils sont hors de vue de Mammy, ils font semblant, s'arrêtant pour un petit paté , une cuisse de dinde, et une boite de bœuf . Finalement, Tom poursuit Jerry sous un tapis, puis l'échange avec une tomate, qu'écrase Mammy. Avec Jerry apparemment vaincue, Tom est récompensé avec une tarte, mais quand Jerry essaie de réclamer sa part, Tom lui ferme la porte.

La bande dessinée s'ouvre avec Jerry courant avec une ligne de pêche attachée à la queue, qui continue à reculer, tandis que Jerry est tiré sous un radiateur vers Tom, vêtu comme un pêcheur, à l'autre extrémité de la ligne. Quand Jerry atteint Tom, le chat fait une grimace et fait peur Jerry, ce qui le fait s’enfuir à nouveau.
