Add to a movie listIcare et les vieux sages (en russe : Икар и мудрецы, Ikar i mudretsy) est un court-métrage d'animation soviétique réalisé par Fiodor Khitrouk avec la technique des celluloïds. La direction artistique est assurée par Édouard Nazarov et Vladimir Zouïkov . Le sujet est inspiré du mythe d'Icare. Sorti en 1976, le film reçoit le Prix du film pour la jeunesse au Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy en 1977.
Synopsis
La vie coule tranquillement dans la société ancienne. Chacun y trouve sa place et les gens consacrent leur temps à des discussions philosophiques sur le sens de la vie. Parmi eux vit Icare, un excentrique qui essaie d'apprendre à voler comme les oiseaux. Retombant à chaque tentative, il se voit asséner un proverbe par l'un des vieux sages qui observent la scène, comme, par exemple Festina lente, Quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi, Quo altior gradus, tanto profundior casus, Bene qui stat non moveatur, etc. Ces paroles atteignent le ciel et en retombent sous forme de monuments de granit. Mais un jour, un miracle se produit et Icare s'envole.Comments

In Ancient Greece in the land far away, when people read Greek mythology came the time of legend – the greatest son of Zeus – Hercules. Hercules was once destined to be the King of Mycenae as his father Zeus had planned but his jealous stepmother Hera had other plans. Hera not willing a bastard son of Zeus should overshadow her, decided to let another boy, Eurystheus, his cousin born first which deprived Hercules of the right. Hera tried to kill Hercules with two serpents but he strangles them both.

Long after Zeus stole the Cronus Stone from the monsters called the Titans, he and Alcmene gave birth to a son named Hercules, who defeated two serpents (presumably sent by a jealous Hera) at a young age and became a hero. After Hercules battles a sea serpent, the villagers thank him, and Iolaus climbs out of a restchair and joins him. Hercules and Iolaus head to Thebes to see Alcmene but Iolaus is a little upset because Hercules takes the credit. Meanwhile, Xena and Gabrielle reclaim the gold stolen by satyrs from a group of travelers in Corinth. Ares tells Xena to stop Hercules from going to Thebes because there is a trap set for him there, but Xena doesn't believe him and leaves with Gabrielle.

The film briefly gives Hercules' history after defeating Hades for good, in which he marries Meg and revisits his teenage years. In particular, it shows an adolescent Hercules's enrollment and the beginning of his adventures at the Prometheus Academy, a school for gods and mortals, which Hercules supposedly attended during the time when he was training to be a hero with his mentor, the satyr Philoctetes.
