Volontairement tourné avec des décors en carton, IXE-13 est une comédie absurde qui s'inspire de la série québécoise des Aventures étranges de l'agent IXE-13, 934 romans-feuilletons hebdomadaires créés par Pierre Daignault (dont le nom de plume était Pierre Saurel) et illustrés par André L'Archevêque.
Synopsis
Comédie musicale mettant en vedette les quatre membres du collectif humoristique, Les Cyniques. André Dubois tient le rôle titre de IXE-13, « l'as des espions canadiens ». Il est entouré de Marc Laurendeau, Serge Grenier et Marcel Saint-Germain. Un film tout en musique, une joyeuse parodie des aventures du personnage légendaire issu d'un populaire roman-feuilleton des années 1950 signé Pierre Saurel.Actors

Pootie Tang, born in "a small town outside Gary, Indiana", is portrayed as a ladies' man who is "too cool for words", even as a young child. His life is marked by the deaths of his mother "Momma Dee", and shortly thereafter his father "Daddy Tang", who dies after being mauled by a gorilla during his shift at the steel mill (the third time someone had suffered that particular fate). Just before Daddy Tang's death, Pootie inherits his father's belt and is told that (as long as he has right on his side) he can "whoop anyone's ass with just that belt."

Jimmy Sutton, the publicity agent of a major Hollywood studios, is taking part in the endless search to find an actress to star in the adaptation of a best-selling novel Girl of the North. In Minnesota he discovers Trudi Hovland a schoolteacher who is perfect for the part. After he tacking her back to Los Angeles she manages to secure the role. In an effort to boost their popularity, Jimmy organises a fake romance between Trudi and another Hollywood star, Roger Maxwell. The film is essentially a two-part program. The first half consists of a romantic comedy storyline involving an aerialist, played by Gene Kelly, who is drafted into the US Army but really wants to join the air force. During training, he falls in love with Kathryn (played by Kathryn Grayson), the daughter of his commanding officer, who has similarly put her singing career on hold in order to serve by providing entertainment for the troops. Unusually for this type of a film (and for this era of Hollywood), the character Kathryn has only recently met her father for the first time since she was a baby, her parents having divorced. A related subplot has Kathryn conniving to get her parents (played by John Boles and Mary Astor) to reconcile. During the first part of the film, Grayson sings several numbers and Kelly performs one of his most famous routines, dancing with a mop as a partner.

Brady (Ross Lynch) and McKenzie "Mack" (Maia Mitchell), are surfing together at a beach near McKenzie's grandfather's hut. Mack oversees her grandfather and Brady watching their favorite film, where bikers and surfers battle for which gang gets the privilege to hang out at Big Momma's, a local diner and hangout. Brady later learns that Mack made a promise to her aunt that after her mother died she would attend a private school and they were to leave the next day. Mack asserts that although going is her choice, she feels it is what she has to do, since it's what her mom would want. She sadly tells Brady they will have to break up since they will be too far away to maintain their relationship.
