Made in Hong Kong (香港製造) is a 1997 Hong Kong film written and directed by Fruit Chan, executive produced by Andy Lau and starring Sam Lee, Yim Hui-Chi, Wenders Li, and Tam Ka-Chuen. It won the Best Picture Award at the 1998 Hong Kong Film Awards along with 13 other wins and 6 nominations.
The movie is made from leftover film reels and as such has a very low cost of production, even for an independent movie.
Synopsis
Ete 1997. Mi-Aout a deserte le lycee pour se mettre au service de M. Wing, un collecteur de dettes proche des triades locales. Au cours d'une operation, il tombe amoureux de Ah Ping, une jeune fille atteinte d'une maladie incurable et condamnee a court terme si on ne lui greffe pas un rein. Mi-Aout decide de trouver l'argent de l'operation. Pour ce faire il accepte un dangereux contrat.Actors

The story takes place in Tai Hom Village, a small Hong Kong shantytown that is literally and figuratively overshadowed by a large apartment and mall complex called Plaza Hollywood. The movie begins with pig butcher, Mr. Chu (Glen Chin) and his sons, Tiny (Leung Sze Ping) and Ming (Ho Sai Man) who are all obese. A rich woman and former actress named Mrs. Li is losing her good looks and longs for passion with her husband, who is revealed to be having a love affair with his younger and more attractive masseuse. In order to boost her image, she seeks the help of Aunt Mei, a local chef. Mei cooks her some special dumplings which she claims to be effective for rejuvenation. From the very beginning, Mrs. Li was aware that Mei used unborn fetuses imported from the abortion clinic in Shenzhen, where Mei used to work. She keeps seeking more potent remedies, until one day she is in luck: Mei had just performed a black market abortion on a girl five months pregnant (Kate) who has been impregnated by her father. After Mrs. Li sneaks a look in the kitchen and sees the fetus, she is initially disgusted and runs away, but later comes back. Mei makes the fetus into dumplings, which Mrs. Li devours. This has a wondrous effect on her libido as she goes into the hospital and has sex with her husband.
