Synopsis
Cameron Kincaid (Angarano) est un jeune délinquant qui veut participer à une compétition étudiante de cinéma amateur. Il rencontre Flash (Plummer), un amer et alcoolique électricien de plateau à la retraite qui a travaillé sur plusieurs chefs-d'œuvre (dont Citizen Kane). Flash accepte d'aider Cameron. Il utilise ses différents contacts avec le milieu du cinéma (pour la plupart, des retraités) et devient une sorte de mentor non conventionnel pour le jeune.Actors

The movie follows the antics of high school students and their adventure in saving their school from being closed. Class president Melissa (Loryn Locklin) has started raising money through donations to keep the school open, but when the fundraising begins to slow down, Dylan (Matt Lattanzi) convinces Melissa that he can save the school with his plan. They take $3000 of the money that has already been raised to bet on an illegal car race that Dylan is convinced he would win. Dylan doesn't win the race and in order to get their money back, he is forced to double-down on an impossible race against the clock that only the town legend has ever accomplished. The film ends with a spectacular stunt with car and driver jumping through the goal-posts during a football game between two local high schools, Apollo and Cathedral.

Xavier Quinn (Denzel Washington) is the chief of police on a small, unnamed Caribbean island (the novel was set on the fictional island of St. Caro). It is wintertime in Paris and the girls all set off at half-past nine in two straight lines, as part of their usual routine. However, they soon learn that Miss Clavel has a cold, so they call Dr. Cohn to come and treat her. Meanwhile, Miss Clavel is interrupted by Pepito, who is practicing the violin next door. He promises Madeline that he will not play again until Miss Clavel is well again. Dr. Cohn says for the girls to give Miss Clavel love and warmth, and that soon she shall be well. That night, the girls reminisce on the happy times they have with their families at home, especially the times when they too have been sick. Madeline tells them of the times she spent with her parents, but sadly she no longer has them to turn to since they died many years earlier thus believing she has no family left and is now an orphan. Heartbroken, the girls wail at Madeline's story, but are soon comforted by Miss Clavel, who was awoken by the noise. She reminds the girls that they all love and look out for each other, and that they all are just as much a family as anybody else, bringing peace of mind to all of the girls. Everybody returns to bed with sweet dreams.

Stewart McBain (Coleman) is a successful self-made demolitions expert who blows up buildings for a living. Travis, a lonely and rather foolish young man, has just lost an abusive father who left all of his money to a TV preacher but left him his valuable coin collection and his large farm when, Kelly Ann, walks into his life.
