Synopsis
Based loosely on French painter Théodore Géricault's life who met the famous equestrian Antonio Franconi, the director of the Cirque Olympique. Gericault decided to stay and live with the circus and painted only horses to try and understand the mystery of this animal. Mazeppa embodies a man carried away by his passion.Actors

Seo Ju-hee is a horse jockey who dreams of winning the Grand Prix championship. One day, she suffers an accident during a horse race and her beloved horse is put down and she injures her arm. Dan Brooks (Warner Baxter) runs a paper box factory for his father-in-law, J. L. Higgins (Walter Connolly), who owns most of the major business interests in Higginsville. Uninspired by his factory position, Dan devotes his time and energy to training his thoroughbred race horse, Broadway Bill, in hopes of returning one day to the world of horse racing. Dan is encouraged to follow his dream by his unwed sister-in-law Alice (Myrna Loy) and stable hand Whitey (Clarence Muse). One night at a family dinner, J. L. reports that sales are down in the paper box division and blames it on Dan's neglect of his work. When he orders Dan to sell the horse and focus on his factory job, Dan resigns and leaves Higginsville without his wife Margaret (Helen Vinson), who shows little sympathy for her husband.

The Greening of Whitney Brown follows the misadventures of Whitney Brown (Sammi Hanratty), a privileged and popular Philadelphia teenager whose world is upended when her parents, Henry (Aidan Quinn) and Joan (Brooke Shields), experience sudden economic problems that necessitate a family move to Whitney's grandparents' old farm in the country. Her mom goes to Boston to meet with her husband who got an interview and Whitney stays with her grandfather. She sneaks out and eventually gets to her old school's fall formal. She straightens everything out stating the one of her supposed BFFs told lies to everyone to become the "it" girl. The family then decides to stay at their grandfather's house with Bob.

On the morning of the Epsom Derby, a disparate group of people prepare to go to the races. Lady Helen Forbes, a recently widowed aristocrat is planning to make the journey in spite of the disapproval of her social set who consider it unseemly to go while still in mourning. David Scott, a newspaper cartoonist is ordered to go by his editor against his wishes. Meanwhile, as part of a charity raffle, a dissolute film star, Gerald Berkeley, is to escort a wealthy grand dame to Epsom for the day something he is equally reluctant about. Happily she falls and injures her leg, and her crafty housekeeper arranges for one of the young maids to go in her place. Down on his luck, jockey agent "Boots" Malone (William Holden) is at a diner with his friend "Stash" Clements (Stanley Clements) when teenage runaway Thomas Gibson Jr. (Johnny Stewart) tries to pay for his meal with a hundred dollar bill. "Carlo Cavelli" is the professional name of a world-famous dressage rider (Rudolf Forster), who always wears a mask in his public performances and whose real name is unknown. He is about to appear in Vienna, which causes a sensation. At the dressage competition he comes to the attention of Irene von Ketterer (Angela Salloker), a young woman who after a fight with her mother (Camilla Gerzhofer) has gone to stay with a friend. She is so impressed with him that she decides that she too will become a dressage rider. After a time she manages to obtain personal tuition from the normally unapproachable Cavelli. At first their relationship is very friendly, but when he discovers the name of his pupil, Cavelli attempts to distance himself from her. This is because his life was totally changed by a duel in which he shot and killed his best friend's son, Franz, Irene's brother (Paul von Hernried), an action the memory of which still tortures him. Nevertheless, after an interval, he acknowledges his great attraction to Irene and after establishing that her feelings for him are reciprocated, he decides to ask for her hand in marriage. At the same time however he also asks her to travel to London with him the very next day.
