Written and directed by Sandy Wilson based on her own childhood, the film stars Margaret Langrick as Sandy Wilcox, a pre-teen girl growing up on a ranch in rural Penticton, British Columbia in the late 1950s. Sandy's longing to be treated as an adult is roused even further when her older American cousin Butch Walker (John Wildman) comes for a visit. The cast also includes Richard Donat, Jane Mortifee, Babz Chula and Camille Henderson.
A 2006 On Screen! documentary about the film featured interviews with director Sandy Wilson and leading actress Margaret Langrick.
The sequel to this film American Boyfriends was released in 1989.

George Henderson (John Lithgow) is returning home with his family from a camping trip when they hit something with the family station wagon. George investigates, and discovers to his horror and awe, that they had hit a Sasquatch. Deciding to take the creature home, George does so, strapping it to the roof of the car. Meanwhile, a mysterious hunter has been tracking the creature and discovers the Hendersons' license plate, which fell off when they hit the creature. At home, curiosity gets the best of George, and he goes out to the garage to examine the creature. Much to his shock, the creature was not dead and has since disappeared. He hears noises from his kitchen and sees the creature, it has knocked over the fridge in its attempt to find food. After waking the whole house, the family realizes that the creature is friendly and kind. George has a change of heart, at first he wished to make money from the creature, but now decides to take him back to the wild. Naming the creature "Harry", George tries to lure him into the station wagon, but Harry believes that the Hendersons mean him harm and instead he disappears.

Based on the true story of the Detroit Red Wings' Ted Lindsay, a nine-time NHL All-Star who, along with Doug Harvey of the Montreal Canadiens, headed up a small group of players in a battle to protect the rights of players against monopolistic NHL owners of the 1950s era, including Bruce Norris of the Red Wings, Conn Smythe of the Toronto Maple Leafs and James D. Norris of the Chicago Black Hawks as well as NHL president, Clarence Campbell. Ranch hand Roy Leckner (Henry Czerny) gets more than he bargained for when he agrees to fulfill his bosses dying wish to bring home his long lost son Levi (Shawn Ashmore) and teach him to take over the Four Arrows Ranch. Roy finds Levi unable to speak and living in an institution where he’s been his entire life. Roy has no idea how he is going to be able to teach the boy anything and to make matters worse, Sir Robert Butler (David Fox) a local, cut throat businessman, is plotting to take over the ranch. Roy thinks the case is hopeless until Butler’s former secretary Jane Makepeace (Colette Stevenson) joins forces with Roy to keep her greedy ex-employer at bay. The prim and proper Jane brings order to the household and discovers that Levi can’t speak because he is deaf. Jane and Roy join forces to teach Levi to communicate and work on the ranch and an unlikely romance blossoms between them. In the end, in spite of their differences, Roy, Jane and Levi defeat Butler and forge a family in the process.

When done, Annie asks Jay to delete the recording, but he ends up instead inadvertently synchronizing the video to several iPads the couple had given away over time. After failing to get it out of the cloud, they set out to get back all of the gifted iPads, leading to a series of awkward encounters and close calls.
