Synopsis
Steve Kiever (Barry Sullivan) est un jeune avocat travaillant pour une compagnie d'assurances. Il souhaite obtenir de l'avancement afin de contenter les goûts de luxe de sa petite amie, Ellen (Arlene Dahl). The film begins with gruff American gangster Dickey pushing his broken-down car along a causeway through rising seawater while his eccentric companion Albie lies inside, bleeding from a gunshot wound after a bungled robbery. Jenny Lamour (Delair) wants to succeed in the theatre. Her husband and accompanist is Maurice Martineau (Blier), a mild-mannered but jealous man.
