Based on Steinbeck's 1937 novella, the plot centers on George and the mentally disabled Lennie. The two farm workers travel together and dream of one day owning their own land. With their work passes, the two end up on Tyler Ranch. George finds a property for sale, and calculates that they can buy the land at the end of the month with Candy's help. The film explores themes of discrimination, loneliness, and the American Dream.
Of Mice and Men took part in the 1992 Cannes Film Festival, where Sinise was nominated for the Palme d'Or award, given to the director of the best featured film. After the film debuted in the United States on October 2, 1992, it received positive acclaim from critics.
Synopsis
During the Great Depression, the quick-witted George Milton (Gary Sinise) looks after his physically strong companion, Lennie Small (John Malkovich), who is also mentally disabled. The two are fleeing from their previous employment as workmen in Weed, California. Other farmers chase them after Lennie was accused of attempted rape when he touched and held onto a young woman (Moira Harris) and her pretty red dress, prompted by his love of stroking soft things. George and Lennie escape, hop on board a train, and obtain work passes from a new town. A bus was supposed to transport them to a new ranch for work, but the bus driver drops the two off 10 miles beforehand. While walking down the road to the ranch, George gets aggravated by Lennie's incessant questioning about where they are going, since he easily forgot three times. George then catches Lennie petting a dead mouse he accidentally killed while stroking it too hard since he never knows his own muscular strength. Despite Lennie's pleas to keep the dead mouse and his claims that he did not kill it, George takes it away and throws it, causing Lennie to cry. George, showing sympathy, tells him he will probably get him a puppy.Actors

In 1981, Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks), a man with below-average intelligence, watches a feather fall from the sky at a bus stop in Savannah, Georgia. As he sits down on a bench, he removes a copy of The Adventures of Curious George from his suitcase and places the feather inside the pages. He introduces himself and begins telling his life story to strangers who sit next to him on the bench, recounting his childhood in Greenbow, Alabama. As a child in the 1950s, Forrest (Michael Connor Humphreys) had to wear leg braces for which other children make fun of him. He lives with his single mother (Sally Field) in a very large house outside of town, which they rent rooms to travelers. His father apparently left and he never knew him. Despite his limited mental capacity, Mrs. Gump tells her son that "stupid is as stupid does" (which he later uses as a retort when called "stupid") and also assures him that he is no different from any of the other children. Forrest is admitted to public school despite his IQ being below the cut-off, but only after his mother agrees to a one-night stand with the principal, Mr. Hancock (Sam Anderson). On his first bus ride to school, Forrest is rejected by nearly all of his peers except for Jenny Curran (Hanna R. Hall). He and Jenny become best friends, and he helps her hide from her abusive, alcoholic father. One day, while fleeing from bullies, Forrest's leg braces break apart and he discovers that he can run very fast. A few years later, Forrest inadvertently runs onto the field during a local high school football match and catches the attention of Coach Bryant from the University of Alabama who is scouting for players. Forrest attends the university on an athletic scholarship and becomes a college football star, earning him a spot on the College Football All-America Team and a trip to the White House to meet President John F.

Abel Tiffauges (Malkovich) is a simple Frenchman at the start of World War II, who loves animals and children. In Los Angeles in 1928, single mother Christine Collins (Jolie) returns home to discover her nine-year-old son, Walter (Gattlin Griffith), is missing. Reverend Gustav Briegleb (Malkovich) publicizes Christine's plight and rails against the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for its incompetence, corruption and the extrajudicial punishment meted out by its "Gun Squad" led by Chief James E. Japan had been at war with China since 1937 before declaring war on the United States and the United Kingdom. Amidst the war, Jamie Graham, a British upper middle class schoolboy fascinated with Japanese planes and pilots, is enjoying a privileged and spoiled life in the Shanghai International Settlement. At a costume party he attends with his parents, he wanders off and encounters a Japanese airplane that had been shot down. Nearby he finds a camp full of Japanese troops in a trench and is taken aback. Jamie's father finds him and forces him to leave, Jamie not realizing the impending danger. After the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, the Japanese begin to occupy the Shanghai International Settlement and in the ensuing chaos to escape the city and catch the next ferry out of Shanghai, Jamie is separated from his parents in the crowds of panicking people. Over the crowds of people Jamie's mother shouts at him to wait for them back at their house and promises that they will come back for him. He spends some time living in his deserted house, occupying his time by waiting and eating remnants of food but eventually he ventures out into the city and finds it bustling with Japanese troops.

Mary Reilly is a servant in the home of Dr. Henry Jekyll. A friendship between Mary and the doctor develops, which becomes an attraction. The doctor takes an interest in Mary, confiding in her and she in him; specifically she tells him of abuse she suffered at her father's hands. After Mary and the Doctor spend a considerable time talking one morning as she brings him his breakfast; the head of the household staff, Mr Poole challenges Mary's story that the two of them were discussing the planting a garden, thinking that she lied. Upon being discreetly questioned by Poole, the doctor deftly covers for Mary and says that the garden they talked about is "the very thing" needed in the house. However, the household is thrown into turmoil when the master announces he will be getting an assistant. The staff speculate on his employment and origins, as he is never fully seen and remains a mystery.
