Add to a movie listOmar Khayyam (also released as The Life, Loves and Adventures of Omar Khayyam and The Loves of Omar Khayyam) is an American movie directed by William Dieterle, filmed in 1956 (mostly on the Paramount lot) and released in 1957. It starred Cornel Wilde as Omar Khayyám, the eponymous Persian poet, Michael Rennie as Hasani Sabah, and famous exotica singer Yma Sumac as Karina. It was the final film to be scored by Victor Young (1899-1956) and was released posthumously.
Synopsis
A Nishapur, en Perse, au XIIe siècle. Omar Khayyam, jeune poète et brillant mathématicien, aime la belle Sharain. Hélas, le shah en personne a jeté son dévolu sur la jeune fille, qui ne peut pas le repousser. Grâce à Nizam, un ancien camarade devenu grand vizir, Omar obtient un travail dans le palais du shah. Il y retrouve un autre ami, Hasani. Le shah apprécie les services d'Omar et le récompense. Un jour, une secte mystérieuse, les «Assassins», élimine le frère du souverain. Celui-ci part combattre les Byzantins...Actors

Social outcasts Mary Marshall (Ginger Rogers) and Sgt. Zachary Morgan (Joseph Cotten) meet while seated across from each other on a train bound for Pinehill.
