Synopsis
Le film raconte l'histoire du jeune Piero Mansani qui vit dans un quartier populaire de Livourne, nommé "Ovosodo", avec sa belle-mère et son frère. Son père alterne les séjours en prison et les cavales. Au fur et à mesure du film, on le voit grandir et apprendre la vie accompagnée de ses plaisirs et de ses désillusions.Actors

The film tells the story of the Michelucci family, from the 1970s to the present day: the central character is the stunningly beautiful Anna, the lively, frivolous and sometimes embarrassing mother of Bruno and Valeria. Everything begins in the Summer of 1971, at the annual Summer beauty pageant held at Livorno’s most popular bathing establishment. Anna is unexpectedly crowned “Most Beautiful Mother”, unwittingly stirring the violent jealousy of her husband, a Non-commissioned officer of Carabinieri. From then on, chaos strikes the family and for Anna, Bruno and his sister Valeria, it is the start of an adventure that will only end thirty years later. The whole movie is set when Bruno, a high school teacher who ended up living in Milan after managing to escape from Livorno and his mother, returns to his hometown to be at his mother’s side during her very last days, remembering all those key episodes of his family life through a long series of flashbacks.

Le film Baci e abbracci réunit trois tranches de vie, toutes différentes les unes des autres. Mario mène une existence des plus désespérées: propriétaire d'un restaurant qui n'a plus de clients, tributaire d'un mariage qui finit en queue de poisson, oppressé par la solitude de son prochain Noël, il a décidé d'en finir une fois pour toutes. De leur côté, Renato, Luciano et Tatiana, trois ouvriers au chômage à Livourne, mettent sur pied un élevage d'autruches. Mais, les trois compères se trouvent vite confrontés aux exigences de leurs créanciers. Enfin, un groupe musical composé de jeunes vagabonds, « Amaranto Posse », s'installe dans une écurie en ruine pour répéter ses dernières compositions. Ils sont heureux, jeunes et inconscients. Baci e Abbracci a le goût d'une ambiance de Noël. Alors qu'au-dehors règne le gel de l'hiver, la misère et la solitude, les destinées de tous ces personnages se croisent dans une maison de campagne. Cette fête un peu spéciale est animée de joie malheureuse, d'espoirs déplacés, de rêves non aboutis, de chansons et de danses.

The film is set in a town in Brianza and in Milan. On Christmas eve, a waiter cycling home from working at a prestigious private school's gala is hit by a car.
