It tells two stories set in Edo period Japan: one involving a Christian girl who is taken as a slave and tortured, the other about a brothel master who tries to escape with a girl he fell in love with. It is a follow-up to the 1968 film Shogun's Joys of Torture.
Synopsis
Deux histoires se déroulant à Edo à l'époque du Shogun. 1 - A une époque où les chrétiens sont persécutés avec véhémence, Iori tombe amoureux d'une jeune chrétienne. Lorsqu'elle et sa famille sont capturées lors d'un raid, son maître sadique la prend comme esclave personnelle pour tourmenter Iori et tente de briser son esprit par le viol, la torture et le sadisme pur. Après qu'Iori ait refusé de participer plus longtemps, il est exilé, mais jure de la récupérer quoi qu'il en coûte. 2 - Lorsque Sutezo est contraint de servir le maître violent d'un bordel afin de rembourser ses dettes, sur place, il se lie d'amitié avec une jeune fille nommée Sato. Ensemble, ils s'échappent et tentent de se débrouiller en vivant d'escroqueries et de petits larcins.Comments

Jeffrey Beaumont (Kyle MacLachlan) returns to his logging home town of Lumberton, North Carolina from Oak Lake College after his father suffers a near-fatal stroke. While walking home from the hospital, he cuts through a vacant lot and discovers a severed ear. Jeffrey takes the ear to police detective John Williams (George Dickerson), through whom he reacquaints with the detective's daughter, Sandy (Laura Dern). She tells him details about the ear case and a suspicious woman, Dorothy Vallens (Isabella Rossellini), who may be connected to the case. Increasingly curious, Jeffrey enters Dorothy's apartment by posing as an exterminator, and while Dorothy is distracted by a man dressed in a yellow suit at her door (whom Jeffrey later refers to as the Yellow Man), Jeffrey steals her spare key.

Klaus, a former Nazi German doctor who practiced horrific experiments with children during World War II, has continued with his sick attraction for torturing and killing young boys during his exile in a remote village in Catalonia. His latest victim is a child he has tortured and later kills with a blow to the head, taking photographs of the crime. This sadistic act has been witnessed by Angelo, another of Klaus' victims, who has spied him from a window, later stealing the tortured incriminating writings and photographs of the doctor's crimes. Klaus tries to commit suicide jumping from a tower, but he survives. As a result of his failed attempt he is now unable to breathe on his own and is immobile, confined permanently in an iron lung to survive.
