Paulette is a 2012 French comedy crime film directed by Jérôme Enrico. He wrote the script in cooperation with Bianca Olsen, Laurie Aubanel and Cyril Rambour. It has been said the plot was based on true events.

Synopsis
Paulette and her late husband had a brasserie. Now the xenophobic old lady lives alone in a banlieue and her pension is too small to get along. In the course of a sequestration most of her furniture and also her TV set are seized. Moreover the landline is cut off because of overdue bills. Paulette is desperate to earn money somehow and she hears there is much money to be made in dealing cannabis. She visits a known criminal named Vito in her area and asks him for work. He commissions her eventually to sell his cannabis. Yet the other dealers don't put up with her unexpected success. They beat her up and rob her. Again she is desperate because she has to deliver a certain amount of money to Vito. Instead of just distributing sheer cannabis she starts to sell cakes and biscuits spiced with cannabis. Soon there is a huge demand for her elaborate pastries. Vito's boss gets enthusiastic about her success and plans to sell her biscuits to pupils. When she refuses to support this idea, the villain kidnaps Paulette's grandson. She starts a spectacular attempt to free him but in the end it is her son-in-law Ousmane who saves the day. Finally she leaves France and opens a cannabis coffee shop in Amsterdam, hereby becoming herself the kind of person she used to dislike: an emigrant.Actors

Une jeune institutrice est nommée dans un petit village normand. Jusque-là, un commerce d'alcool produit par des alambics illégaux était florissant, mais la jeune femme, constatant que même ses élèves étaient atteint par la consommation d'alcool, décide de lutter contre ce trafic. Tout le monde autour d'elle est complice soit par intérêt, soit par ignorance, même la directrice de l'école ne voit pas d'inconvénient à ce que les boissons qu'apportent les élèves à l'école soit alcoolisées. La production de goutte de la région est achetée par un trafiquant sans scrupules, l'américain, qui organise des transports de nuit en camion vers Paris. Elle doit faire face à de nombreux obstacles et payer de sa personne pour tenter éradiquer, avec l'aide des autorités, le trafic d'alcool des villageois et le fléau de l'alcoolisme.

Yolanda, a cabaret singer, brings heroin to her lover who drops dead of an overdose. To escape from the police, the singer looks for refuge in a local convent. The Mother Superior, a fan of Yolanda, rapturously greets her. The mission of the order, called the Humiliated Redeemers (Redentoras humilladas), is to offer shelter and redemption to fallen women. The convent once was a bustling haven for prostitutes, drug addicts and murderers, but it is now in disrepair. The order is facing serious financial hardships as their prime financial supporter, the vain and greedy Marchioness (La Marquesa) has decided to discontinue the convent's annuity under the pretense of economizing. She feels less affinity with the sisters than did her recently deceased husband, who set up a fund in gratitude. The convent had taken in their wayward daughter, Virginia, who subsequently became a nun and ran off to Africa, only to be eaten by cannibals.

The film plot takes its starting point from the French play The Human Voice (La Voix humaine, 1930) by Jean Cocteau where a desperate woman tries to avoid being dumped by her lover through a series of phone calls. In the film TV actress Pepa Marcos (Carmen Maura) is depressed and taking sleeping pills because her boyfriend Iván (Fernando Guillén) has just left her. Both she and Iván work as voice-over actors who dub foreign films, notably Johnny Guitar with Joan Crawford and Sterling Hayden. The voice he uses to sweet-talk her (and many other women) is the same one he uses in his work. He is about to leave on a trip and has asked Pepa to pack his things in a suitcase that he will pick up later.

Rachid est un jeune beur qui enchaîne les petits boulots, et use de drôles de stratagèmes pour séduire les filles : avec l'aide de complices faisant semblant d'agresser les demoiselles, il se fait passer pour un preux chevalier venant s'interposer dans la fausse bagarre. Malgré cette rivalité amoureuse naissante, Rachid et Denis vont mutualiser leurs efforts dans la recherche impossible d'un appartement. Élise s'ennuie à Bordeaux. Elle a l'impression de ne pas vivre la vraie vie. Elle monte à Paris rejoindre son frère Lucien. Il est ouvrier et sympathisant du FLN. Simone, a former rocker, is a dedicated homemaker who works in a city of the suburbs of Lyon. Eight years after the events of the first film, Miami Police Department (MPD) narcotics division detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey are investigating the flow of highly-potent ecstasy into the city. Their surveillance of boats coming in from Cuba leads them to a Ku Klux Klan meeting and drug drop in a swamp docks outside Miami. The subsequent raid on the Klan members proves to be a disaster; malfunctioning radios delay back-up, causing a firefight when Mike accidentally shoots Marcus in the buttocks, while the Klan members are revealed to be mere small-time buyers and not the distributors of the ecstasy. The incident leaves Marcus to further question if he still wants to partner with Mike, while Mike fears that Marcus may discover his new relationship with Marcus' sister, Syd.
