The film released on 19 December 2014 to highly positive reviews. Telugu dubbed version "Pisachi" released on 27 February 2015.
Synopsis
Siddharth (Naga) is an upcoming violinist in Chennai who stumbles upon an accident where a teenage girl (Prayaga) is lying in a pool of blood. He rushes her to the hospital with the help of an auto driver and a couple. However, he is too late and the girl passes away holding his hand. Traumatized by the whole episode, Siddharth comes home with one of her slippers. He then drives around the city aimlessly with his red car while helping homeless people, unable to come out of the depression due to the girl's death.Actors

Satya (Narain) and Kiruba (Ajmal Ameer) are close friends living opposite each other in the neighbourhood. Satya is a rowdy, wasting his time drinking merrily and getting involved in fights. Though he and Kiruba passed college with a first class degree, Satya has no interest in joining the police force like his father. Kiruba studies hard to become a Sub-Inspector(SI), challenging Satya to do the same. Just a day before the exam, Satya decides to take up the exam as well, much to his friend's surprise and with little head start, passes the physical, written and interview, with the help of malpractices and influence from his uncle and becomes an SI. However, Kiruba doesn't make it through despite being straight forward; this creates a rift between the two.

J.K. (Cheran), a brooding CB-CID officer, is worried about his missing sister. His senior officer promises him that he can take up his sister's case after he solves another important one, so J.K. agrees. Amputated male arms are packed in cartons and left in public places, possibly as a message to the police. The missing people are identified as Raja Manikam, Moorthy etc., based on identification from their families. By triangulating the coordinates they find a lead in this case. Durai Pandi (Manicka Vinayagam) is a leading textile shop owner who was beaten, insulted in public and handed over to the police after it was found that he had used a peephole to look into the women’s dressing room. He is caught by the victim Suja's family, who are totally shattered by this incident. The inspector in-charge of this case is Isakki Muthu. Later, Durai Pandi's manager accepts the blame for the crime, clearing Durai Pandi's name. Later, Suja's father Dr. Purushothaman (Y. Gee. Mahendra) is arrested on charges of bribery, and then released. A sex affair complaint is lodged against Dr. Purushothaman’s wife (Lakshmy Ramakrishnan) by John Britto. These events shatter the family, and they commit suicide by setting themselves on fire. But Suja is still missing, so J.K. decides to reopen the case.

Bruce Lee (Jiiva) is a martial arts specialist but unluckily he is unable to use those skills to make a living. Instead, he falls in love with Police Deputy Commissioner Gaurav's (Nassar) daughter Shakthi (Pooja Hegde), and tries to impress her and her elder sister's kids with his martial art skills. To make it more fun for them he pretends to be a superhero by wearing on a costume each time he visits. On his way back on one such visit, Lee finds himself caught in between cops and robbers chase in the city. He decides to assist the police and manages to nab one robber from the gang and hands him over to the police. Lee doesn't realize that by doing so he has asked upon himself the revenge of Dragon (Narain) who heads the same gang. As the police were involved too, Dragon eyes to take revenge on Police Commissioner Gaurav also. Dragon then connives a plan that eventually frames Lee as a robber and the attempted to kill the Police Commissioner. What lies ahead for Lee now is to prove his innocence to the Police, win his love back Shakthi and more importantly bring Dragon and his gang to justice.

After having killed the notorious extortionist Mayil Vaaganam in the first film, Duraisingam (Suriya) has gone undercover after meeting the Home Minister and is working as an NCC officer in a school in Thoothukudi. The only people who know about this operation are the Chief Minister and Home Minister apart from himself. Sathya (Hansika Motwani) is a student who falls for Duraisingam though he is waiting to marry Kavya (Anushka Shetty), his love interest from the previous film. Susai (Santhanam), a local who works in the same school shows Duraisingam parts of Thoothukudi and also tells him about the rogue elements dominating the area helping him in his surveillance. He requests the Home Minister to transfer Erimalai (Vivek) and another cop for assisting him. Sathya's moves are frequently repulsed by Duraisingam who learns that Sathya is the niece of Thangaraj (Rahman). Bhai (Mukesh Rishi) and Thangaraj, are two criminals who control the area. Bhai and Thangaraj have connections with an international gangster and drug lord Danny (Danny Sapani).

A kind-hearted Zamindar (Rajinikanth) lived with his sister-in-law and cousin Rajasekhar (Raghuvaran), helping people incessantly. His sister-in-law has a son, to whom the Zamindar bequeaths a major portion of his property. At this juncture, a new baby is born to the Zamindar. His wife dies soon after. Brother Rajasekhar cheats the Zamindar as he fears that his son's property might be taken back and given to the Zamindar's own son. Impressed with Das' kidnapping skills, Nambikkai asks him to kidnap the minister's son Arumai Pragasam (Karunakaran) as revenge and offers to pay Das up to ₹2 crore (US$300 000).
