Synopsis
Agathe rentre du Viêt Nam avec les cendres de son mari qui, médecin du monde, est mort dans ce pays. À la douane de l'aéroport à Paris, le hasard la met à côté de deux Islandais — Anna et son fils Úlfur — dont la compagnie aérienne a fait faillite avec la crise financière qui frappe leur pays et sont restés bloqués en transit en provenance de Jamaïque. Un peu sous la pression, mais en souvenir d'un séjour accueillant en Islande, elle offre l'hospitalité de sa maison, place de la Fraternité à Montreuil-sous-Bois pour quelques jours. Agathe n'arrive pas à faire son deuil et est incapable de mener à bien le montage de son film malgré l'aide de ses amis.Actors

Samir, la quarantaine dégingandée, grutier Montreuillois, tombe raide dingue d’Agathe. Comme elle est maître-nageuse à la piscine Maurice Thorez, il décide, pour s’en approcher, de prendre des leçons de natation avec elle, alors qu’il sait parfaitement nager. Mais son mensonge à deux balles ne tient pas trois leçons, Agathe déteste les menteurs. Choisie pour représenter la Seine-Saint-Denis, Agathe s’envole pour l’Islande où se tient le 10e Congrès International des Maîtres-Nageurs. Morsure d’amour oblige, Samir n’a d’autre choix que de s’envoler à son tour.

The film is set in Moscow not long after the October Revolution where a complaining stray dog looks for food and shelter. A well-off well-known surgeon Phillip Phillippovich Preobrazhensky happens to need a dog and lures the animal to his big home annex practice with a piece of sausage. The dog is named Sharik and well taken care of by the doctor's maids, but still wonders why he's there. He finds out too late he's needed as a test animal: the doctor implants a pituitary gland and testicles of a recently deceased alcoholic and petty criminal Klim Chugunkin into Sharik. Sharik proceeds to become more and more human during the next days. After his transition to human is complete, it turns out that he inherited all the negative traits of the donor - bad manners, aggressiveness, use of profanity, heavy drinking - but still hates cats. He picks for himself an absurd name Poligraf Poligrafovich Sharikov, starts working at the "Moscow Cleansing Department responsible for eliminating vagrant quadrupeds (cats, etc.)" and associating with revolutionaries, who plot to drive Preobrazhensky out of his big apartment. Eventually he turns the life in the professor's house into a nightmare by stealing money, breaking his furniture, a water ballet during a cat chase and blackmailing into marriage a girl he met at the cinema. The professor with his assistant are then urged to reverse the procedure. Sharikov turns back into a dog. As Sharik he does remember little about what has happened to him but isn't much concerned about that. To his content he is left to live in the professor's apartment.

A spunky piglet named Gordy lives a happy life on Meadow Brook Farm somewhere near Hope, Arkansas. Two men arrive in a truck to take Gordy's father, but Gordy is alerted of this by the farm's rooster. When Gordy returns he finds that his mother and siblings were taken in another truck while he pursued his father. Determined to locate his family and return to the farm, Gordy sets out alone to find them. He eventually ends up in the care of Jinnie Sue MacAllister, a young country singer who lives in a camper van with her also country singer father, Luke, and their "manager", Cousin Jake. Jinnie Sue, not knowing Gordy's name, calls him Pinky.

On February 1, misanthropic TV meteorologist Phil Connors (Bill Murray), news producer Rita Hanson (Andie MacDowell), and cameraman Larry (Chris Elliott) of the fictional Pittsburgh television station WPBH-TV 9 travel to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to cover the annual Groundhog Day festivities. The following morning, Phil, who does not like the assignment or Punxsutawney, grudgingly gives his report on the festivities. He then gets his team on the road back to Pittsburgh, but a blizzard shuts down all travel. The team is forced to return to Punxsutawney and stay another night.
