Rama Rao Jr., Samantha and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. The soundtrack was composed by S. Thaman while the cinematography was handled by Chota K. Naidu. The film released worldwide on 11 October 2013 to mixed reviews from critics who criticized its storyline. The film eventually flopped at the box office even though it had a record opening. The movie is dubbed in Hindi as 'Mar Mitenge 2'(also Phantom Returns), under the banner of Goldmines Telefilms.The film was also dubbed into Malayalam as Sarvadhipan Ramayya Vasthavayya was dubbed into Hindi with the title ‘Mar Mitenge 2’ and was telecasted in set max, which created a record, Mar Mitenge 2 smashed all TRP Ratings of weekend television programs and other movies. Mar Mitenge 2 stood in Top 5 highest TRP generating programs for the last week and all Bollywood small producers noe vying for NTR movies in Telugu.
Synopsis
Nagabhushanam (Mukesh Rishi) escapes a murder attempt from two assassins (Ajay & Bharani) at Coorg who later threaten him to kill soon. The story shifts to Hyderabad where Nandu (N. T. Rama Rao Jr.), a lonely college student lives. He spends his time with his friends and happens to fall in love in first sight with a girl named Akarsha (Samantha) who stays with her grandmother Baby Shalini (Rohini Hattangadi). With his wits and tactics he tries to make Akarsha fall in love with him and succeeds after a brief time. Nandu accompanies Akarsha to her sister's marriage in her hometown and by then, Nandu is treated as a family friend by Akarsha's family. That night, Nagabhushanam is killed by Nandu and those two assassins who happen to be a team. It is shown later that Nandu used Akarsha as a bait to reach Nagabhushanam to kill him.Actors

Venkataratnam Naidu is a young boy who lives with his younger half-brother (Ajay), stepfather Naidu (Nagineedu) and mother (Suhasini Maniratnam) in Kondaveedu which is a village in Guntur District. Karthik(Jr. NTR) returns to India after completing his graduation in the United States and his mother(Jayasudha) decides to get him married to her brother Dhanunjay's(Sayaji Shinde) daughter Indu(Samantha Ruth Prabhu). Narrator Viraj Anand is the younger son of Satyamurthy, a billionaire businessman who dies in an accident. Kempe Gowda(Sudeep) is a sub-inspector in a dusty village of Rona in Hubli in North Karnataka, his native, where he is adored. The Karnataka Home Minister C Ashok is pleased with Kempegowda and appoints him in all the activities responsible for the city, and posts him as the Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Anti Kidnapping Force.As the cop begins to unearth Armugam's misdeeds, he realizes that he is up against a real challenge. In return Kempegowda kills Vaikunta (J. Karthik) Armugam's younger brother. This infuriates Armugam who begins targeting many people who are close to Kempegowda including Kaavya whom he shoots but is saved by Kempegowda and Bose who is hacked to death by Armugam's henchmen. Finally in a bid to escape the arrest warrant issued out to him, Armugam kidnaps the Tamil Nadu Home Minister's daughter. He falsely tells Kempegowda that he is going to Mangalore with her when he is actually going to Nellore in Andhra Pradesh to put the police off the track. Kempegowda and his officers pursue Armugam and his henchmen near Nellore and kills all of the henchmen. He saves the Tamil Nadu Home Minister's daughter and kills Armugam in an encounter. In the end as the post credits roll, it is revealed that Kempegowda is resigning from the police force and together he and Kaavya are going back to Hubli. They are also happily married.
