Rishyasringar was a 1941 Tamil-language film directed by S. Soundararajan. Vasundhara Devi, Ranjan, Sundaram Balachandar, G. Pattu Iyer, Kumari Rukmini, T. E. Krishnamachari, K. N. Ramamurthi Iyer, R. K. Ramasami, M. S. Murugesam, T. V. Sethuraman, V. N. Pankajam and K. N. Kamalam starred in the movie. The music score was provided by the Sarma Brothers.
A village girl is humiliated by a prince and vows to take revenge. She vows to make the prince marry her and have a child who would whip the prince in the court. However, her plans are almost foiled when the prince imprisons her when she tries to seduce him. The story revolves on how she tricks him into falling in love with her and begets a son through the prince who ultimately whips him in court.
Saalivaahanan (Ranjan), divinely blessed and born in a potter's family, falls in love with a princess (Rajakumari), while Vikramaditya (MGR) falls for his sister (Vasantha). The hero and villain clash in a furious clang-whang sword duel.
