The film is produced and directed by Anant Govind Mane under his own banner "Chetana Chitra". The storyline of the film is based on a traditional theatre form called Tamasha. The film has many popular songs sung by Sulochana Chavan.
The film won the Certificate of Merit for the Third Best Feature Film at the 12th National Film Awards ceremony held on 31 May 1965. Anant Mane's previous two film Dhakti Jau (1958) and Manini (1961) also won National Film Awards at the 6th and 9th ceremony respectively.
Synopsis
Jyotiba, a tamasha conductor of a popular group enters in a competition against another group led by Raghoo. The competition is a musical Question-Answer, with the looser having to wear lugada for the rest of his life. Jyotiba loses the competition and has to face humiliation due to which he and his wife succumb to death. To avenge the death of her parents, their little daughter Anu decides to excel in the art form. She takes the vow to defeat Raghoo and make him wear lugada. Anu trains in dance and singing under guidance of Kulkarni master. After 12 years, she grows into a young attractive woman (now played by Jayshree Gadkar) and finally decides to enter the competition with her troupe.Actors

The film opens shortly before World War I. Raoul De Baere (Raft) is a dancer from New York City, aiming to become king of the European nightclub circuit. When Ludwig van Beethoven dies, his assistant and close friend Schindler deals with his last will and testament. There remains a question as to who Beethoven's "immortal beloved", an unnamed woman mentioned in one of his letters, may be. Schindler embarks on a quest to find out who this woman is. Retrospective footage of Beethoven from his younger years until his death is featured as the film progresses. The conclusion ultimately is that the individual is Johanna Reiss, the daughter of Anton Van Reiss, a prosperous Viennese upholsterer. In the film, she becomes pregnant by Beethoven; when by an accidental turn of events he does not marry her in time, she marries his brother, Kaspar. Their son, Karl van Beethoven, is raised by Ludwig in the vain hope of making him an important musician in his own right.

The film begins with Tionne Watkins (Drew Sidora) narrating, telling about the girls' lives as children and summarizing their story. The film then jumps to the year 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia. Tionne is approached by her friend, Marie, who informs her about a girl group being formed by Ian Burke and persuades her to audition for LaFace Records. Tionne brings Crystal (Brooke Montalvo), the founder of the group, to see Lisa Lopes (Lil Mama) perform and Crystal says that she will be perfect for the group. After singing "Meeting in the Ladies Room", they received a mixed reception. (most in part due to Crystal's ill-fated off key performance) However, both Tionne and Lisa garner interest from both Perri "Pebbles" Reid (Rochelle Aytes) and her husband, co-founder of LaFace L.A. Reid (Carl Anthony Payne II). After receiving the good news from both Pebbles and L.A. Reid, Lisa decides that she should call her family and tell them the great news, especially her father, who told her that she would never make it as a rapper. She calls her family only to learn that her father was shot and killed.
