Shajarur Kanta is a 2015 Byomkesh Bakshi mystery film based on the novel of same name by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The film is directed by Saibal Mitra, and produced by Pradip Churiwal and Saikat Mitra. It is the second Shajarur Kanta film adaptation in Bengali, another was 1974 film of same name.
Synopsis
The story is a mystery which Byomkesh solves in his later stages of life. The film will be contemporary and so is set in 2014 where we will see cell phones and character played by Indraneil even travelling in a BMW and reading The Telegraph.

Things take a turn when a friend of Sunil's returns from USA and mentions about Swinging and how it has kept him visibly younger. After this Sunil gets obsessed with the concept and starts planning to "swing". Malti is upset with Sunil's obsession and does not give into his new found love. Still, Sunil starts connecting to possible swingers by responding to magazine ads and finally gets hold of Mr. Vinod Khanna and they agree to meet once to get everybody's consensus.
