Shesha Drushti (Odia: ଶେଷ ଦୃଷ୍ଟି', English The Last Vision) is a 1997 Indian Oriya film directed by Apurba Kishore Bir, which deals with the disillusionment of a dying freedom fighter who has to bribe a government official to get his son a job.

Synopsis

Kedar Babu is a freedom fighter since the days of Gandhiji's call for the Civil Disobedience Movement. Keadr Babu has lost his wife at an early stage of his marriage. Since then, he has brought up his only son Sangram with all paternal affection. In the town, Sangram stays in the house of a Zamindar Bahudur Surriyakant Singh. During his stay in the Zamindar's house, Sangram experiences the gradual moral setback of a feudal system and the irresponsible and unethical practices in the library. This puts him in a state of dilemma and delusion. In the last moment encounter with his father, Sangram experiences a new perception to life, illuminated with anxiety, suspicion, shock, tragedy, dilemma, wilderness, and the thrill of fulfilling the last wish of his father by enacting the childhood spirit of attaining freedom and subsequently a new vision.

A free and compassionate human spirit is trapped in Shibu, an eleven-year-old boy. Being asked by the Uncle to carry a pair of shoes to a doctor's residence, Shibu ventures across the streets and lanes in his casual and carefree manner while encountering some stray incidents. But, then something very sudden and unpredictable happens, which invites him to show his true potential and real merit, to surprise the adults, effected by indifferent attitude.

Prasanna Choudhury is famous doctor and lives in Puri with his sister Anuaradha and brother Ashok. One day while traveling with her brother Ashok in sea shore, Anuradha finds a man lying unconsciousness in the tides. She rescues the man with the help of Ashok and bring him to her home. With the treatment of doctor Prasanna and timely nursing of Anuradha, the man named Debabrata goes well. In the meantime Anuradha and Debabrata fall in love. By knowing this Prasanna have no choice but agrees to the marriage of Anuradha and Debabrata. While reaching Debarata's home, Anuradha finds that he is a widower and has a son. Anuradha feels betrayed but as a devoted wife forgets everything and tries to adjust with the family. Gradually she takes care Debrabrat's family and also his son. Debabrata's sister Bhanu can't accept Anuradha and creates misunderstanding between wife and husband. At last biased Debabrata leaves the house with his son ignoring his wife Anuradha. But Anuradha doesn't lose hope. With her determination, sacrifice and devotion, the family unites at last.
